More Circuit des Yeux US and EU Dates!

BLOWING CIRCUITS WORLDWIDESeeing Circuit des Yeux perform is believing! While  Reaching For Indigo is as formidable an LP as you'll hear anytime soon, seeing the songs played live directs laser beams straight to your brain's vibrating core. With a backing band full of talented musicians (Cooper Crain, Tyler Damon and Andrew Scott Young) along for the ride, Haley Fohr's CdY are currently on the road showcasing the album in a light more transcendent than even repeated listenings on your turntable can offer. The hot tip we're happy to transmit today is that Haley and co. will continue to take this show on the road deep into 2018, with more U.S.A. dates coming in April and a whole slew of European adventures - some coming soon (for which this serves as reminder) - and some coming later, just announced!

While the community ethos of a full band performance absolutely strengthens the message, Haley Fohr's voice, a four-octave howling range, manages to stand taller than one could possibly imagine when witnessed live - enough to stop the heart and temporarily pause blood flow. Attendance is mandatory should you wish to participate in the psychic pulse: a Circuit des Yeux touris not to be ignored, so stamp your planners and we'll see you at the shows below (defibrillator in tow)!US  TOUR

Greta Van Fleet: 2018 Tour Dates, Recording Debut Album

GRETA VAN FLEET ANNOUNCES INITIAL NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES FOR 2018With Five Dates Already Sold Out, U.S. Trek Starts April 13 at CoachellaBand Has Started Recording its Debut Full-Length Album"10 New Artists You Need to Know" IN THE STUDIO:  Jake Kiszka, Josh Kiszka, Danny Wagner, Sam Kiszka
LOS ANGELES, CA - January 24, 2018 -- Greta Van Fleet, who took the 2017 music scene by storm with its dynamic rock 'n' roll debut single "Highway Tune" claiming the #1 spot at Rock Radio for five consecutive weeks, amassing 10-million-plus Spotify plays and 6.8-million YouTube views in 2017 alone, selling out every single one of its headline dates in advance, and being named Loudwire's  "Best New Artist," will kick off its 2018 tour schedule at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on Friday, April 13.  The band's itinerary will include a slew of other major outdoor music festivals as well as headline dates that will see them playing to larger-capacity venues and multiple nights in some cities.  Five of the dates - Houston, Dallas, Nashville and two nights in Detroit - went on sale last week and all sold out in under 15-minutes.  Tickets for Greta Van Fleet's headline dates for this leg go on sale to the public this Friday, January 26; log on to www.gretavanfleet.com for all ticket purchasing info.
"We love making music and we love playing shows, but we never expected anything like the attention we've been getting," said bassist Sam Kiszka.  "We are truly humbled by the response we've gotten, and are very excited to get back on the road and play for our fans."
Prior to the tour, the Frankenmuth, MI-based Greta Van Fleet - 21-year old vocalist Josh Kiszka, brothers Jake (guitar, also 21) and Sam (bass, keys, 18), and longtime family friend Danny Wagner (drums, also 18) - are spending January and February recording its debut full-length album anticipated to be released late Spring/early Summer (Lava/Republic Records).  The album will be recorded in Nashville and Detroit and produced by Al Sutton and Marlon Young, the duo that helmed the band's critically-acclaimed, chart-topping/breakout EP Black Smoke Rising (4/21/17) and the follow up From The Fires double EP (11/10/17).  For the album, the band has an archive of songs written over the past few years as well as brand new material penned late last year when they spent a week in the Tennessee woods.  So, fans can look forward to the next evolution of, as Revolver magazine put it, Greta Van Fleet's "high-octane, soul-and R&B-influenced riff rock."
"Each of us has his own set of influences so that brings a great diversity to the music we make," said Jake.  "Every one of our songs has its own unique complexities and we'd like for the full album to showcase that diversity, let people see what we can really do."
With many more dates to be confirmed, Greta Van Fleet's initial 2018 tour itinerary is as follows:

“ ...the band nails down flaming guitar riffs over a fluid bass line, topped with the playful vocals of lead singer Haley Shea.” —  FADER

“Like the Scandinavian version of Sleater-Kinney, Sløtface deal out pointed guitar work and jarring melodies with a feminist fire.”  Consequence of Sound

“ ...sounds kind of like if Paramore met the Donnas and decided to start playing punk houses.”
 TIDAL “Rising”

“Norway’s Sløtface Makes Political Rock You Can Dance To” — NYLON

“...Sløtface has solidified themselves as a band on a mission to deliver a message with their music out to the masses.”  Alternative Press
It’s been a sensational year for Norway's Sløtface, who recently released their acclaimed debut album Try Not To Freak Out via Propeller Recordings/Nettwerk. After a busy summer, which saw the band’s first headlining tour in Australia, a slew of European festival runs, and UK dates supporting Los Campesinos! and The Cribs, the band has brought their epic punk chops and behemoth pop exuberance back to the states for a handful of North American dates which wrap up in Philadelphia and NYC this week. All dates here or below.

Norway’s Sløtface have a live-wire energy and introspection beyond their years. Try Not To Freak Out intimately covers issues - spanning from unrealistic beauty standards to adolescent dilemmas – showcasing the band’s signature brooding wit. The “Nancy Drew” video continues in Sløtface’s fiery feminist footsteps, reimagining the track’s teen detective namesake as a badass superhero crushing the idea of the patriarchy with one punch. Watch the  “Nancy Drew” video  alongside an interview with  The Spark Mag  or HERE . We encourage you to post & share!
"We wanted to put the Nancy Drew character from the lyrics of the song into life. In the song (and video), Nancy Drew is a superhero fighting against the patriarchy and at the same time being super cool. We hope that people watching the video gets inspired by Nancy to fight for equality.” shares bassist Lasse Lokøy.

Illustrator Ida Neverdahl explains, "It is difficult being a girl in our world full of weird stuff. The video is a story about the tools used to keep girls down, but also how you can use evil powers for good."
Try Not To Freak Out is nothing short of a massive rock record which received numerous accolades from the US and abroad, clocking up more than 6,000 plays across international radio, including weekly spins from Annie Mac onBBC Radio 1 and a playlist add at triple j in Australia. Additionally, Lordeoffered praise to the band, Tweeting “omg this is rad!!!” to the band’s rendition of her Melodrama track “Supercut“ on Triple J’s ‘Like A Version’. Whether it’s a love song from an unexpected perspective or a critique on power and ego, the foursome’s message and undeniably catchy riffs have inspired critics and fans across the globe. Be sure to catch the band’s raucous performance live in a city near you!

THE SHINS SHARE NEW TRACK “DEAD ALIVE (FLIPPED)”

THE SHINS SHARE NEW TRACK  “DEAD ALIVE (FLIPPED)”

FORTHCOMING ALBUM THE WORM’S HEART OUT JANUARY 19, AVAILABLE FOR  PRE-ORDER  NOWThe Shins have shared “Dead Alive (Flipped),” a more sober and serious take on the original version and the latest track from their forthcoming album  The Worm’s Heart . The complete rework of The Shins’ 2017 acclaimed album  Heartworms  will be released on Friday, January 19. The Worm’s Heart is available for pre-order now and includes immediate downloads of "Name For You (Flipped)," "Cherry Hearts (Flipped)," and “Dead Alive (Flipped).” See full track listing below.

James Mercer says: “The original version of 'Dead Alive' was right in the wheel house with tracks we had done before. It has the same triplet galloping rhythm as a number of Shins songs. So to 'flip' it we broke it down into more romantic elements like that dark piano and Patti's violin, which I love. That's me in the beginning knocking my beer off the console while mic-ing her! Oops! Listen for Casey's sick fuzzed out solo."

When James Mercer wrote, produced, and recorded  Heartworms , he had this desire for an alternate version, an opposite version. The original track order is reversed and songs are reborn, yet the lyrics and melody remain intact. “The Fear” is transformed from tender lament into a growling garage rock cut, “Heartworms” is given a disco makeover with Moroder-style synths, and “Half a Million” is reworked into a reggae and rocksteady-tinged reboot. The reasoning was to showcase the versatility and strength of Mercer’s songwriting, the result is  The Worm’s Heart .

FIRST AID KIT SHARES VIDEO FOR “FIREWORKS”

FIRST AID KIT SHARES VIDEO FOR  “FIREWORKS”

DUO’S FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM RUINS TO BE RELEASED JANUARY 19, AVAILABLE FOR  PRE-ORDER  NOW

2018 HEADLINE TOUR KICKS OFF JANUARY 24; SET TO PERFORM AT COACHELLA LATER THIS YEARFirst Aid Kit has shared the official video for “Fireworks” – watch here. Directed by Mats Udd, the visual takes sisters Klara and Johanna Söderberg back to the 80’s where they attend a high school prom that comes to an abrupt and mysterious end. “Fireworks” is the latest track from their forthcoming album, Ruins, and has been praised by The New York Times, Stereogum, SPIN, and more. Paste declares the song is “another gorgeous glimpse of First Aid Kit’s new record.”

First Aid Kit says: "We're thrilled to release the video for ‘Fireworks.’ We've always loved the idea of American high school proms, but never got to experience one in real life. It was incredible to get to recreate one in our hometown of Stockholm with director Mats Udd. Aesthetically it's such a different look from our previous video – it was fun to go full 80's mode. We got to dress up our friends and our mom in full on retro looks. We had a blast shooting this video and found out ‘Fireworks’ is a great song to slow dance to."

The Swedish duo will release Ruins, their fourth studio album, on January 19 via Columbia Records. Produced by Tucker Martine (My Morning Jacket, Laura Veirs), the album was recorded in Portland, OR where the Söderberg sisters collaborated with the accomplished and talented likes of REM’s Peter Buck, Wilco’s Glenn Kotche, and Midlake’s McKenzie Smith. Consequence of Sound named Ruins one of their “most anticipated albums of 2018,” praising the record is “a rawer sound [with] a willingness to expose more of their inner selves than perhaps ever before.” Ruins is available for pre-order now and includes lead single “It’s A Shame” as well as “Postcard” and “Fireworks.” See full track listing below.

In celebration of the album’s release, First Aid Kit will embark on a North American headline tour for the first time since 2015. The run of shows kicks off January 24 in Oakland, CA and concludes February 13 in New York, NY. Tickets and more information are available at http://www.firstaidkitband.com/. First Aid Kit is also set to perform at Coachella on Saturday, April 14 and April 21. For more information, visitwww.coachella.com.

Ruins follows the 2014 release of Stay Gold, a lush and ambitious 10-song collection that beautifully captures the duo's vivid storytelling, landing First Aid Kit countless “Best of 2014” accolades. Earlier this spring, First Aid Kit also released a stand-alone single on International Women’s Day entitled "You Are The Problem Here."  It is an empowered, passionate, and angry song that confronts the rape culture epidemic, with a portion of proceeds donated to Women for Women International.

Love Is The Currency is the fourth studio full-length from Alessi’s Ark

ALESSI’S ARKLove Is The Currency is the fourth studio full-length from Alessi’s Ark, arriving over four years on from LP3, The Still Life.
“The core theme of Love Is The Currency is our limitless ability to heal one another though music, healthy love, healing frequencies and working through previously unprocessed grief,” explains Alessi. “With ‘Cut The Cord’, I wanted to make a song that could encourage people to save themselves from fear and the grip of toxicity’s many guises.”
Long-time Maccabees engineer Jago Jago produces ‘Love Is The Currency,’ with Will White (brother of Maccabees members Felix and Hugo) helping co-write. Jago Jago’s brother Memby is on drums, with the aforementioned Felix White contributing guitar on “Wives”.
“The understated arrangements suggest you’re listening to a woman with impeccable taste” – MOJO“It takes several plays to appreciate all the small touches that make each delicate piece” – THE GUARDIAN
