QUINQUIS Shares New Track "Inkanuko" Feat. Desire Marea || Announces New Album 'eor' Out 5/9 On Mute
QUINQUIS SHARES NEW TRACK “INKANUKO” FEAT. DESIRE MAREA
ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM EOR OUT 5/9 ON MUTE

Today Breton producer Émilie Quinquis has announced details of a new QUINQUIS (pronounced: KAN-KEES) album, eor (which means “anchor” in Breton). Launching today with a unique collaboration with South African artist Desire Marea, “Inkanuko” (pronounced: In-kan-oo-ko), the new album will be released on vinyl, CD and digitally on May 9, 2025 via Mute.
“Inkanuko” (meaning “desire” in Zulu) opens the album with Émilie’s gossamer voice, before electronics give way to Desire Marea’s tender vocal as the pair deliver what is surely the first track sung in both Breton and Zulu.
Émilie explains that, “…it’s a song about making sure that little flame inside of you is not going to die. Desire was an amazing person to help kick off the idea for the whole album."
Desire goes on to say, “Working on this was an absolute pleasure and honour. QUINQUIS created such a sensual soundscape, add to that the most delicate vocals, I was immediately inspired. A song moving me at such a carnal level led me to ponder on a disconnect between spirit and flesh.”
Listen to “Inkanuko” HERE.

Émilie lives on Ushant Island, a landmass of six square miles off the coast of Brittany. Having learned to sail solo three years ago – a necessary act, she felt, to get home to the island and leave again on her terms – she kept going. She crossed the Irish Sea, circled the Scottish islands and Faroes, experienced the vulnerability and power of living in the elements. She kept imagining what could be in the waves around her, what visceral figures could have been forgotten by folklore, and how, with her instruments in tow, she could help bring these mermaid presences to the surface, hold them up for air.
The result is an album in which music provides succor among the shudders and swells. It shows QUINQUIS as an exceptional producer and an extraordinary singer, musician and songwriter, creating tracks which ripple and flow, that torrent and break, full of propulsive visions and startling stories of the sea.
eor came to life through her modular synthesizers, "I love how electronic music can connect, or create a dialogue between my body and somebody else's body. You can really go to unknown territories with its sounds, and make people wish to listen to them again, to try to understand them, like when you're learning a language,” and was co-produced alongside Gareth Jones (Sunroof, Depeche Mode, Liars, Einstürzende Neubauten).
eor sees the producer bringing stories that could exist in the seas around Brittany to life. Thinking of herself at night on the sea and the shapes she saw in the water, she kept coming back to imagining mermaids in folklore and wanted to reshape that figure for the 21st century. She says:“I wanted to think about the essence of a mermaid – the desire to encounter beauty that makes you want to lose yourself completely, to discover someone so enchanting that you would follow her into the sea, even if that would kill you.”
“We don’t hear many stories about mermaids falling in love with mermaids, or sailors falling in love with sailors”, she continues. “I wanted to access these feelings, and these stories in a way that felt powerful, that felt right for these times.”
eor plunges into the watery cores of who we are and who we were and carries us, powerfully within its currents. It finds pulsing new ways to express the presences and emotions we encounter as we sail through our lives' raging seas. QUINQUIS shows brilliantly how music can anchor us when we're longing for the past and propelling ourselves into unknown futures, her energy moving us, guiding us, all together.
eor is out on vinyl, CD and digitally via Mute on May 9, 2025. Pre-order it HERE.
eor was produced by Émilie Quinquis & Gareth Jones. The album was mixed by Gareth Jones at Strongroom, London, recorded on Ushant Island by Émilie Quinquis and mastered by Alex Wharton at Abbey Road.

SHE WANTS REVENGE Vocalist Justin Warfield Announces His First Solo Project!

SHE WANTS REVENGE Vocalist Justin Warfield Announces His First Solo Project!
Los Angeles, California: Justin Warfield, lyricist and frontman of Goth Rock luminaries She Wants Revenge drops his first proper solo release since co-founding the legacy Dark Alternative band in 2004.
Yes, he’s released various side projects and one-offs over the years (and who can forget his guest appearance with Bomb The Bass way back when? Or the dancefloors he packed with “Live From The Opium Den”?).
But WARFIELD, he says, “is the only recording and touring project I’ve helmed outside of SWR.”
A first-listen hook-filled high-octane party anthem, “All The Fun (Kiss, Kiss, Kiss)” is the frenetic first single from Deathrock Devotionals Vol I, the upcoming EP out on Black Heathers/Cleopatra Records. The song blends the descriptive storytelling Warfield is known for along with future goth energy, and a touch of throwback to the classic 80s Deathrock born of his hometown Los Angeles.

The accompanying video, too, is riotously exuberant, smash cut imagery slicing through a characteristically energetic live performance, within and around which the song’s subtitle is enacted by couple after couple - and why not, with Valentine’s Day just around the corner?
VIDEO: https://youtu.be/1rpxSBGb0dw

On the live front, WARFIELD will play their first ever live show at an EP release party in Echo Park, Los Angeles on March 29th, as well as launching a full European/UK tour in June, and North American tours in the Summer and Fall.
Additionally, Justin will be fronting She Wants Revenge at Los Angeles’ famed Cruel World Festival on May 17th, and Forever Now, the sister festival in Milton Keynes, UK.

The new single appears on Better Living Through Static Vision— out March 7th on Relapse

Philadelphia's hardcore punks Staticlone will release their crushing new album, Better Living Through Static Vision (pre-order), on March 7, 2025.
On Better Living Through Static Vision you can hear vocalist George Hirsch, bassist Dave Walling, and drummer Jeff Ziga channel everything from crust to metal, and the hardcore punk they’ve all been steeped in for decades. The lyrics on the album, all written by Hirsch, focus on themes of alienation and loss.
Over the course of the last few years he moved to Chicago and then back home to Philly. This was a time where everything was different and difficult emerging from the pandemic but for Hirsch there was an added element of seeing his old neighborhood go downhill. As he puts it, “A lot of it is coming back and seeing so much has changed and gentrified and the people that I knew who’ve been displaced from that area. I wouldn’t say that I’m trying to make a political point as much as it’s coming from an emotional standpoint.” Those feelings are addressed head-on in the song “Alone In Philadelphia,” which premieres today:
All that I can hear / Whispers of the past
No one is here / No one’s coming back
A stranger in the place that I was raised
"Everyday is grows more demonic and strange"
Hirsch continues: "True connection is created in the primordial ooze of hyper specificity. Staticlone is a band that makes music to connect with people. Whether from a city, suburb, or small town."
Watch / share "Alone In Philadephia" visualizer

At his core Hirsch is a storyteller. Go back and listen to anything he’s ever done and you’ll see it in the unflinching honesty of his lyrics and hear it in his heartfelt vocals. On Better Living Through Static Vision that poetry is paired beautifully with some of the catchiest, heaviest music out there. This is an innovative and interesting band that’s managed to create something new while still maintaining a very palpable link to the various styles that make up its bones.
Look for more news from Staticlone soon.

Following the confirmation of their Just Like Heaven Festival appearance, Rilo Kiley has announced a run of headlining North American dates and festival performances that will include stops across the western half of the U.S. and Canada.
The band is thrilled to confirm that the May 14th date at Red Rocks Amphitheatre will include special guests Julien Baker and TORRES; support for other dates to be announced. Tickets for the May leg of shows go on sale February 7th and will be available for purchase at https://www.rilokiley.com/.
“It’s going to be wonderful for us, like going back to the purest version of yourself, that early ’20s place where everything is possible,” says Lewis. “You’re in a van and Jason’s got the map, Pierre is behind the wheel, and I’m on the shitty acoustic guitar on the bench seat working out a new song with Blake. I don’t think it’s ever been as good as that, when it was just us against the world.”
Alongside the highly anticipated touring news, Rilo Kiley has also revealed that they will be releasing a special reissue of their landmark album The Execution of All Things. Arriving April 25th via Saddle Creek, The Execution of All Things (Frozen Lake Edition) will be available in three configurations––a deluxe LP ( cloudy transparent and cream vinyl) + bonus limited edition 7-inch (transparent vinyl), LP (cloudy clear vinyl) and CD:
The Execution of All Things (Frozen Lake Edition) Deluxe LP + 7″

Pre-orders are available now: https://rilokiley.lnk.to/Execution
“Rilo Kiley cemented themselves in indie rock history upon The Execution of All Things’ arrival—it was immediately seen as a remarkable next step for the band’s sonic palette and ability to wring poignancy from vulnerability…the album’s continued reverberation in a new generation of contemporary artists and listeners is arguably just as significant a part of its legacy.” –– PASTE
“…the most interconnected of Rilo Kiley’s albums. All the songs feel like they’re in conversation with one another — each of them devastatingly sad and exceedingly invigorating at the same time…For as emotionally raw as Rilo Kiley’s songs can be, if there’s one thing to be taken away from The Execution Of All Things, it’s perseverance. The songs sound joyous, in spite and because of all the self-doubt and anxieties that are twisted up in them. They are, at the end of the day, hopelessly optimistic.” –– STEREOGUM
“…a dynamic album with intriguing lyrics, a country/folk shimmer, and explosive pop moments.” –– PITCHFORK

Wings Venus and Mars 50th Anniversary Edition Album Due For Release March 21, 2025
Wings
Venus and Mars 50th Anniversary Edition
Album Due For Release March 21, 2025
Pre-Order Here

MPL and UMe commemorate the 50th anniversary of Wings’ fourth studio album, Venus and Mars half-speed master edition, out on March 21, 2025. Pre-order here.
One of the world’s most beloved rock outfits, Wings came to define the era of 1970s arena rock while dominating the airwaves with no fewer than 14 US Top 10 hits and 12 Top 10 hits in the UK. Following their 1973 masterpiece Band on the Run, Venus and Mars would represent another peak of Wings’ creative and commercial heyday. The band’s fourth studio album was released on May 27, 1975, ahead of the legendary Wings Over the World tour. Preceded by the US Number One single “Listen To What The Man Said” and featuring “Letting Go,” a fan favorite in Paul’s live set to this day, Venus and Mars hit Number One in the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic and went on to sell over 4 million copies worldwide.
This special 50th-anniversary vinyl edition was cut at half speed using a high-resolution transfer of the original master tapes from 1975 by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. The album is presented as a meticulous reproduction of the original UK pressing, with recreations of the original “Venus and Mars are alright tonight” circular sticker and “comparative sizes of sun and planets” bookmark sticker and comes with two posters with photography by Aubrey Powell and Sylvia de Swaan. The iconic album artwork by Hipgnosis has been meticulously recreated and presented in a gatefold sleeve.
Venus and Mars will also be available in Dolby Atmos for the first time, newly mixed by Giles Martin and Steve Orchard.
Less than one year after Band on the Run’s release, the first recording sessions for Venus and Mars took place in November 1974 and featured a revamped Wings line-up. Following the departure of Denny Seiwell and Henry McCullough on the eve of the Band on the Run sessions in Lagos, Paul, Linda McCartney, and Denny Laine were now joined by guitarist Jimmy McCulloch and drummer Geoff Britton. After recording “Letting Go,” “Medicine Jar,” and “Love In Song” at Abbey Road Studios, Wings left London for New Orleans’ Sea Saint Studios, facing another unexpected line-up shift with Geoff Britton’s exit, recruiting Joe English to complete the album.
In tandem with Venus and Mars topping the charts worldwide, the album’s predecessor, Band on the Run, continued building its global multi-platinum popularity. With a powerful new line-up solidified, Wings’ response to the overwhelming demand surrounding them was to launch the Wings Over the World tour — a 65-date run of shows starting in 1975 and stretching into October 1976.
The first Wings release for 2025, Venus and Mars follows 2024’s theatrical release of the rare Wings live-in-studio performance film One Hand Clapping and its accompanying album landing in the Best of 2024 lists of Billboard, Uproxx and the Los Angeles Times, as well as last year’s 50th-anniversary edition of Band on the Run. More exciting celebratory Wings’ activities and announcements are soon set to follow.

Bryan Ferry and Amelia Barratt Announce LOOSE TALK. Release New Track "Orchestra."
NEW MUSIC BY BRYAN FERRY
SPOKEN TEXT BY AMELIA BARRATT
OUT MARCH 28 – PRE-ORDER HERE
NEW TRACK ‘ORCHESTRA’ OUT TODAY
VIDEO BY BRYAN FERRY

‘ORCHESTRA’
Introducing Loose Talk , the new collaborative album of music by Bryan Ferry with spoken texts by performance artist, writer and painter Amelia Barratt, due for release on March 28, 2025. Pre-order/save HERE .
Richly detailed and transportive, ‘Orchestra’ is released today - the first piece to be revealed from the album Loose Talk . The accompanying video was shot and directed by Bryan Ferry. Watch here.
Loose Talk signals the beginning of a new creative chapter for Bryan Ferry, blurring the lines between music, poetry and art. Fifty-three years since Roxy Music’s iconic debut album arrived like a bolt-from-the-blue, his latest project is just as startlingly unexpected. The sounds and shapes, and the spoken words they are set to, are unlike any previous Bryan Ferry album. At the same time, the mood that Loose Talk captures is rooted in Ferry’s past half-century of work.
Loose Talk marks the first time Ferry has created new music for another writer’s words. The album consists of eleven texts, composed by Amelia Barratt, creating fascinating micro-fictions, simultaneously fragmentary and self-contained.
The album balances refined minimalism and abstraction with an experimental and youthful energy. Ferry’s music and Barratt’s texts each hold their own codes. As those codes pulse as one, the album discovers its own language – two monologues begin a conversation that becomes a duet.
Discussing Loose Talk, Bryan Ferry said:
“The whole experience of making Loose Talk has had an interesting newness about it. It seems to have opened a whole new chapter in my work. There’s a really strong mood to the work that Amelia does and I was very conscious of not getting in the way of her words. Hopefully, together, we’ve created something neither could do on our own.
The nearest I ever got to doing pieces like this before would maybe be back in Roxy with “In Every Dream Home A Heartache,” and “Mother Of Pearl”. To some extent, those are kind of spoken monologues. I’m pleased that when we’ve played Loose Talk to people, they’ve said, “Oh, this sounds really different.” That’s what I’ve always wanted with everything I’ve done, or been involved in, to be: different. Different to what you’ve heard before, or seen before. That’s the whole point of being an artist: trying to create a new thing, a new world.”
Amelia Barratt said:
“Loose Talk is a conversation between two artists: a collaborative album of music by Bryan Ferry with spoken texts by me. It’s cinematic; music put to pictures.
There’s possibility for experimentation within a frame. And there’s a freedom in knowing exactly what my part to play is, then being able to pass a baton, stretching out creatively and knowing there is someone on the other side to take it further. Nothing feels off limits.”
Bryan Ferry and Amelia Barratt were first connected via their separate involvements in the art world. The collaboration began with a chance meeting at an exhibition opening, where Ferry grew intrigued to learn Barratt had started working with writing and performance in parallel with her painting. Both artists share an art school background – Bryan Ferry studied painting at Newcastle University in the 1960s, Barratt at Glasgow School of Art and the Slade School of Art, where she received an MFA in 2016 – but it’s the differences between them that animate Loose Talk and create unmapped territory.
Bryan Ferry’s collaboration with Amelia Barratt was first teased with the release of ‘Star’ in 2024 - presented as the latest composition on the newly released 81 track career-spanning collection, Retrospective: Selected Recordings 1973-2023 .
Loose Talk will be released on March 28 digitally, on CD, Black Vinyl, Green Vinyl and Clear Vinyl. The album is available to pre-order/save HERE .
