Elliphant Debuts New Single "Had Enough"
ELLIPHANT DEBUTS NEW SINGLE"HAD ENOUGH"
WATCH THE LYRIC VIDEO NOW HERE

Elliphant - "Had Enough" (Official Lyric Video)August 7, 2020 (Los Angeles, CA) - American-Swedish Recording artist Elliphant has officially debuted her new single "Had Enough" today, marking the first taste from her forthcoming album produced by Grammy-Award winner Mark Rankin (Adele, Florence and the Machine) and due out this year via Create Music Group. The track is an inspiring pop anthem that finds the singer-songwriter embracing self-reflection and evolution. Elliphant has also shared a lyric video for the song directed by Florian Dezfoulian, which flaunts vibrant fashions and lush imagery of the Swedish countryside. Watch it now HERE and stay tuned for the song's official music video release on August 14th.
"Imagine that you walk into a shitty pub and see yourself sitting alone in the bar, miserable and drunk," says Elliphant. "You've definitely had enough, so you walk up and try to talk some sense into yourself. But it's not the easiest thing to get through. Sometimes in life, the smoke gets so thick that you can't see it's actually yourself making the fire. 'Had Enough' is about waking up to a destructive self, facing it and making a change."
Last month, Elliphant released her first official solo track in four years titled "Uterus," which was recorded in one take at producers Peter Harper and Jason Blynn's Silver Lake, CA studio. "Uterus" is one of Elliphant's most personal offerings to date and a particularly meaningful song given the recent birth of her baby girl. Lyrically, the track touches on the idea that the safety of the womb is gone with the wind the second you are born. It's hard to live, hard to hold on to who you are, and even harder to let go of what you have become. The pureness of life is so fragile, and to be born is the beginning of the end.
Coinciding with the release of "Uterus" was a stunning accompanying music video featuring the beautifully pregnant Elliphant. Directed by Stockholm-native Liza Morberg (Mapei, Loreen, Robin Schulz feat. James Black), the video was shot in and around the grounds of Sweden's famed Tullgarn Palace. Watch the music video HERE .
About ElliphantElliphant is a multi-platinum selling artist, originally from Stockholm, Sweden. She signed to TEN Music Group in 2012 where she released her debut single "Tekkno Scene" which was featured in FIFA 13. In 2014, Elliphant released her second EP via Kemosabe Records and Mad Decent, featuring production from Dr. Luke, Diplo, Skrillex and Dave Sitek. In the years following, she toured roughly 140-dates per year and established herself internationally alongside acts such as Charli XCX, Skrillex, Diplo & more. In 2017 at the ARIA Music Awards, Elliphant won the Song of the Year, Dance Work of the Year and Most Played Australian Work at the APRA Music Awards of 2018.

“Cult punk funkateers” – UNCUT
A CERTAIN RATIO have shared a new track from their eagerly anticipated new album, ACR Loco . Revitalized by their most successful tour in over two decades, the band returned to the studio to record their first album in 12 years – due for release September 25 on Mute.
The new track, “Yo Yo Gi,” is an irresistible slice of ACR which fuses funk, techno, and world music in the way that only ACR can do. Watch the video – inspired by the Tokyo suburb it was named after from their visit earlier this year – here.
ACR Loco will be released on CD, cassette, limited edition colored vinyl and digital platforms. The vinyl will be available in one of four colors: white, blue, red and turquoise, randomly packed, with each color of varying rarity. Pre-order ACR Loco here.
The band have also announced details of a very special online event, An Evening with A Certain Ratio, on September 25. To mark the album release, the band will play their new album in full at the Hope Mill Recording Studio following an exclusive premiere of their 2019 hit-laden gig for the Manchester Warehouse Project’s Haçienda night. The band will also be in conversation with a Q&A (questions are invited from fans). To finish, expect one of the band’s infamous ACR Soundsystem DJ sets. Book your ticket here.
Following the unexpected passing last week of Denise Johnson, long-time ACR collaborator and friend, a fund has been set up to assist with funeral costs. Donate here.
MORE ABOUT ACR LOCO
ACR Loco was recorded by the core line up of Jez Kerr, Martin Moscrop, and Donald Johnson with contributions from the ACR live line up – Tony Quigley on sax, Denise Johnson on vocals, and Matt Steele on keyboards. Additional guests include Sink Ya Teeth’s Maria Uzor and Gemma Cullingford, Gabe Gurnsey (Factory Floor), and Manchester luminaries Mike Joyce (The Smiths) and experimental multi-instrumentalist Eric Random.
“This album is a culmination of everything we've ever done,” explains Kerr. The album distills the different directions and styles that have run throughout the band’s career, one that began in the late ‘70s with Factory Records’ first ever 7” release. “Digging into the past for the boxset [ACR:BOX was released in 2019 on Mute] must have rubbed off on us and influenced the current album,” says Moscrop. “I think it helped spark up our imagination. It allowed us to work in some of the past as we move forward into the future.”
Keen on the joys of collaboration and sharing, it makes sense that adding the ACR touch to other artists via a series of reworks led to their latest album taking shape. Recent reworks of tracks for the likes of Barry Adamson, The Charlatans and Maps saw the band return to the studio to unpick those original tracks. “The reworks were crucial,” says Donald Johnson. “They got us back in the studio and forced a union and a bond. They allowed us to start getting a groove again.” Kerr mirrors this. “We love doing the reworks because it's just us doing our thing,” he says. “The three of us jamming is really the basis of it all. Once you get that groove there’s no stopping us.”

"There's no master, and help will surely come around"
Today, Bon Iver shares "AUATC," a new song written by Phil Cook and Justin Vernon, featuring contributions from Phil Cook, Jenny Lewis, Jenn Wasner, and more. Watch the music video, created/produced/directed by frequent Bon Iver collaborators Aaron Anderson and Eric Timothy Carlson, and filmed in New York, with dance and movement from Randall Riley: https://youtu.be/-DusRnF36UA
To accompany the track, the Bon Iver family has outlined a number of organizations and initiatives, encouraging fans to come together and take action, in an effort to fight capitalism and create a world best suited for everyone. Read and share:
Each and every person on earth deserves to live fully with dignity, equity, justice, and joy. Instead, our capitalistic societies have created a world that is most supportive of the wealthy and the elite, and the predatory corporations and policies that drive their disproportionate success.
The average person is cast aside and unheard; marginalized communities are further oppressed due to race, economic status, gender, sexual orientation, creed, criminal record, housing stability, education, ability, documentation status, and more. The pandemic further magnifies these grave inequities and this unchecked greed.
We must continue the fight to topple capitalism as we know it, and recognize our collective participation in its dominant institutions. Bon Iver acknowledges our own position within and use of capitalistic practices. It is with recognition of our privilege that we are fully committed to using our unique platform to challenge and change capitalism within our industry, and far beyond.
We must empower and embrace our vulnerable neighbors. We must fight racism and sexism and classism to build a stronger foundation for the home we all deserve. We must support the leaders and organizations working to change our world for the better. From providing safe and stable housing, to empowering women, to liberating incarcerated people, to celebrating art and music, to fighting climate change, these organizations work tirelessly to foster a world that celebrates our humanity on a local, national, and global level. Please explore, support, and take action:

Bad Religion Release "Faith Alone 2020"
BAD RELIGION
RECREATES CLASSIC TRACK
AS SYMPHONIC PLEA FOR REASON
“FAITH ALONE 2020”

Acclaimed Los Angeles band Bad Religion have just released a radically reimagined version of their 1990 humanist anthem “Faith Alone.” The re-recording uses an uncharacteristic orchestral arrangement to further accentuate the song’s remarkably relevant lyrics. It is a philosophy Bad Religion have extolled since their very formation and has inspired songs like “The Answer,” “Atheist Peace,” and “American Jesus” that rail against religious hypocrisy and anti-intellectualism.
While the original "Faith Alone" was delivered as a propulsive guitar fueled punk track on the band's album Against The Grain, the new interpretation begins with singer and co-songwriter Greg Graffin’s plaintive vocals accompanied on acoustic piano, before building to an unabashedly symphonic crescendo complete with sophisticated string arrangement. The result is a startling sonic departure from the band’s patented melodic punk sound and only serves to emphasize the song’s emotional power and intensely relevant message that, in times like these, “faith alone won't sustain us anymore.”
LISTEN TO “FAITH ALONE 2020”
As the band's singer and co-songwriter Greg Graffin explains, “I have always written songs on piano. Some of our earliest songs were written on my mom’s piano. I’ve been home a lot and so I started recording a bunch of our songs that way. Brett (Gurewitz) thought ‘Faith Alone’ was particularly relevant for this moment. For me, it exemplifies what’s special about the band, which is that we write songs that go to the spiritual and intellectual aspects of human existence.”
The recording of the song was done remotely. Graffin's initial vocal and piano tracks augmented by the band’s co-songwriter Brett Gurewitz who added additional instrumentation including guitar. The strings were added by Stevie Blacke (Beck, Lady Gaga, Garbage) and the drums played by Bad Religion drummer Jamie Miller while producer Carlos de la Garza added additional production and a mix.
Gurewitz explains, “I think the message of ‘Faith Alone’ really resonates with everything that’s happening right now. Racial injustice, Trump, the COVID pandemic, the rejection of science, none of these things can be solved by burying our heads in the sand. We’ve always believed problems can be solved through reason and action, not faith and prayer. It’s what we’ve been writing about since the band started.”
With this release, Bad Religion have added yet one more powerful work to an already formidable canon of intellectually provocative protest songs. Since forming as leather clad intellectual teens amidst the raucous Southern California punk scene, the group has served as unflinching advocates for reason and humanism. It is a message that has never been more necessary.
Greg M. Epstein, Humanist Chaplain at both Harvard and MIT, as well as the NY Times best-selling author of ‘Good Without God’, offers, "If I could take the frustration, grief, longing, and moral outrage rattling around in my brain these past few months and somehow turn it all into a single rock track that could help me stay human in this mess, that track would be ‘Faith Alone’ by Bad Religion. Sure, it’s a stylistic departure for one of the greatest punk bands of all time. But the message is as true to the band's core ethic as anything in their decades-long catalog. It might just be the anthem we need to maintain our faith—not in religion, but in each other—as we try to get through the rest of this year.”
ABOUT BAD RELIGION
Bad Religion, formed in 1980 in the suburbs of Los Angeles, has become synonymous with intelligent and provocative West Coast punk rock and are considered one of the most influential and important bands in the genre. Bad Religion has continually pushed social boundaries and questioned authority and beliefs armed only with propulsive guitars, charging drumbeats, thoughtful lyrics and an undying will to inspire and provoke anyone who will listen.
The band’s critically acclaimed 17th studio album Age of Unreason offers a fiery and intensely relevant musical response to the times, with songs that address a myriad of socio-political maladies, including conspiracy theories, racist rallies, Trump’s election, the erosion of the middle class, alternative facts and more. There is a stylistic consistency to the band’s iconic and influential sound - hard fast beats, big hooks and rousing choruses, yet each new song remains distinctive, utilizing composition, melody and lyrics to deliver a unique narrative consistent with the band’s longstanding humanist worldview.
On August 18, Bad Religion will release their autobiography, DO WHAT YOU WANT: The Story of Bad Religion, written with their full cooperation and support. It reveals the ups and downs of the band’s 40-year career, from their beginnings as teenagers experimenting in a San Fernando Valley garage dubbed “The Hell Hole” to headlining major music festivals around the world. The book predominantly features the four principal voices of Bad Religion in a hybrid oral history/narrative format: Greg Graffin, Brett Gurewitz, Jay Bentley, and Brian Baker. It also includes rare photos and never-before-seen material from their archives.

Dear Nora announces 'Three States' triple LP box set reissue, shares bonus track "Time Is Now"
DEAR NORA
ANNOUNCES THREE STATES: RARITIES 1997-2007 LIMITED EDITION TRIPLE LP BOX SET REISSUE
AVAILABLE ON VINYL FOR THE FIRST TIME
LISTEN TO THE PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED"TIME IS NOW (AUTUMN VERSION)"
"Speedy jangle-pop that cherished emotional earnestness." -Pitchfork, Best New Reissue
"Davidson's songs - though often jangly and addictive - are better, and frankly much weirder, than your standard vintage indie pop." -The FADER
"Sentimental songs with sharp pop hooks... Davidson's wry observations have a way of worming their way into your psyche." -Stereogum
"Davidson's work tends to find association with a type of emotional disclosure that needs little explanation, since the feelings come so candidly packaged." -VICE
Dear Nora, the musical project of Katy Davidson (they/them), has announced a limited edition triple LP box set reissue of their long out of print career-spanning compilation Three States: Rarities 1997-2007. Originally released by Magic Marker as a double CD in 2008, Orindal Records is releasing the collection on vinyl for the first time. The box set features 60 tracks, including three bonus tracks, one of which you can listen to today titled " Time Is Now (Autumn Version) ," and an 8-page, full color booklet filled with liner notes and archival photos.
Of "Time Is Now (Autumn Version)," Davidson says "'Time Is Now' is a song that tells a timeless story from a zoomed-out perspective. The narrator has come to a deeper understanding by taking life lessons into account from a distance. But it's also zoomed-in. It's a meditation on the exact present moment, which is constantly arriving and leaving, elusive, but something that we pursue as if it's the holy grail.
I wrote and recorded the song in 2017, intending to include it on Skulls Example, but it just didn't fit. I recorded a second version in 2019, which is the one that appears on this collection. I recorded this version purposely in the style of Simon and Garfunkel, and I was hoping it would provide the soundtrack to an advertisement. That didn't come to fruition, so I'm including it on this release."Three States: Rarities 1997-2007 is available for pre-order now and due September 18th via Orindal Records..LISTEN TO "TIME IS NOW (AUTUMN VERSION)"
Katy Davidson (gender pronouns: they/them) is the primary songwriter, singer, guitarist, engineer, and producer for the experimental pop project Dear Nora. They're 42 and live in Joshua Tree, California. They spend their weekdays working as a commercial music producer, collaborating with composers to create pop, EDM, and hip-hop songs.
Davidson is still active as Dear Nora, though they don't write as many songs as they used to. Davidson started the band in 1999 when they were young and living in Portland, Oregon. They released a handful of albums throughout the early 2000s, and toured in the USA, Japan, Sweden, and Australia. The Dear Nora live band featured a rotating cast of band members, though oftentimes Davidson played solo. They retired the band name Dear Nora in 2008 and began making music under the names Lloyd & Michael and Key Losers. They also played guitar and keyboards for the bands YACHT and Gossip for a few years, and played bass for Sia at a festival in 2010.
Davidson revived the name Dear Nora in January 2017 when Orindal Records reissued their album Mountain Rock on vinyl. Spurred by the momentum of that release and subsequent tour, they decided to create the first album of new Dear Nora material in a decade, Skulls Example, which was released in May 2018.
Davidson's music references a spectrum of styles, and they tend to write lyrics with layered meanings that can be interpreted both earnestly and satirically.

"Pizza, A Love Story" doc set for DVD and VOD on September 29th
PIZZA, A LOVE STORYComing to DVD and VOD on September 29th PRE-ORDER HERE
"The film is not entirely about pizza; one can watch it and see Bechard laying out the history of his city, a cycle of immigration, assimilation, and gentrification that extends well beyond New Haven." - E Film Critic
NEW HAVEN, CT:
Pizza, A Love Story
, filmmaker Gorman Bechard's 11 years-in-the-making homage to the world famous pizzerias Frank Pepe's Pizzeria Napoletana, Sally's Apizza, and Modern Apizza, is set for release on DVD and Video-On-Demand on September 29, 2020.
Called "An important film of staggering genius that needed to be made," Pizza, A Love Story has been selling out film festival screenings from Washington State to Alabama. Work on the film began in 2008, when Bechard and longtime friend Dean Falcone, both self-acknowledged pizza snobs, decided it was time to turn the camera on the only pizza that matters.
The film sets out to prove its tag line: "Pizza wasn't invented in New Haven. It was perfected there," by combining history, comedy, and some of the most mouth-watering footage you will ever see, into a film that also features cameos from actor Henry Winkler, musicians Lyle Lovett and Michael Bolton, Senator Chris Murphy, legendary concert promoter Jim Koplik, and dozens more. The film also includes the last known interview with Flora Consiglio of Sally's, filmed shortly before her passing in 2012.
"I learned long ago the best films are driven by passion," Bechard says, "and if there's one thing I truly believe it's that New Haven has the best pizza on this planet." And for the prolific filmmaker, it was nice to know, in interviewing so many food celebrities including Dave Portnoy of Barstool Sports, that he was not alone in this belief.
Rounding out the pizza-loving duo is local historian Colin M. Caplan, who came on as a co-producer mid-way into the project, and has since written the acclaimed book Pizza in New Haven. "Colin was able to find a lot of the historical images that seemed to be out of our reach," explains Falcone. "He has a great knowledge of the early history of pizza."
The DVD, coming from the MVD Entertainment Group, features numerous extras, including the Q&A from opening night in New Haven with Bechard and his two producers.
On the same day, the prolific Bechard's newest animal documentary Seniors, A Dogumentary will also be released on DVD and VOD platforms. The documentary is a passionate portrayal of the vitality of senior dogs, and the people who cherish and protect them. Featuring the beloved Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary of Mount Juliet, Tennesse and Chaser the Border Collie, known as "The Smartest Dog In the World." Their storiesconverge through the keen lens of famed photographer Jane Sobel Klonsky, author of the book Unconditional: Older Dogs, Deeper Love.
Gorman Bechard has directed 18 feature films including rock documentaries on The Replacements, Grant Hart, Archers of Loaf, Lydia Loveless, Sarah Shook & the Disarmers, and soon Wilco's Jay Bennett. He has also directed the animal-rights film A Dog Named Gucci, which won the prestigious and rarely awarded ASPCA Media Excellence Award in 2015. He is the author of 5 novels, including the religious satire, TheSecond Greatest Story Ever Told. He is the executive director/programmer of NHdocs: the New Haven Documentary Film Festival. He lives in New Haven, CT with his wife Kristine and their two dogs, Springsteen and Dylan.

Bird 100! The Centennial Celebration of Jazz Pioneer Charlie Parker Continues

One of the Most Pioneering and Influential Artists in Jazz and Modern Music is Honored with New Releases, Vinyl Reissues, First-Ever Excursions Into Graphic Novels and Animated Videos and a Variety of Virtual Events

“The centennial of Charlie Parker is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate his life, legacy and art form with the world. We are thrilled to honor Bird's transformative musical impact on past, present and future generations,” said Jeff Jampol, CEO of JAM, Inc., the manager of the Estate of Charlie Parker.
This fall, Parker’s longtime label Verve Records, in conjunction with UMe, the global catalog company of Universal Music Group, will offer an illuminating new perspective on a previously underexamined chapter of Parker’s life with a new collection titled Bird In LA, featuring unreleased songs recorded during Bird’s storied visits to Los Angeles in the mid ‘40s through the early ‘50s.
“Few artists have made such an impact on the music of an era as Charlie Parker did in shaping the sounds of the 20th century. We are honored to be entrusted with his legacy as we continue to offer fans quality reissues of his remarkable work and explore new platforms for new fans to discover and appreciate his artistry,” said Bruce Resnikoff, President & CEO, UMe.
“Charlie Parker is one of the enduring icons of Verve Records. He is a peerless artist and his legacy is far-reaching. We are proud to celebrate his centennial with many different initiatives – from a graphic novel and incredible reissues, to new videos and live events – so that everyone can be reminded of the greatness of Bird,” said Jamie Krents, EVP of Verve/Impulse!
In conjunction with Bird In LA, Z2 Comics (Gorillaz, Grateful Dead, The Doors) will release the graphic novel, “Chasin’ The Bird: Charlie Parker In California,” which chronicles the story of Bird’s time in Los Angeles starting in December 1945, where Bird and Dizzy Gillespie brought frenetic sounds of bebop from the East Coast jazz underground to the West Coast for a two-month residency at Billy Berg’s Hollywood jazz club. This marked the beginning of a tumultuous two year-stint for Bird, bumming around LA, showing up at jam sessions, crashing on people’s couches, causing havoc in public places, and recording some of his most groundbreaking tracks such as, “A Night in Tunisia” and “Ornithology,” as well as “Relaxin’ At Camarillo,” inspired by the end of his time in SoCal at the Camarillo State Mental Hospital. The novel explores Bird’s relationship with the characters and events he encountered during his time in L.A., including recording some of his signature songs with Dial Records founder Ross Russell, a brief but influential stay at the home of famed jazz photographer William Claxton, a party for the ages at the ranch home of artist Jirayr Zorthian, and others who found themselves in the orbit of the jazz genius. Beautifully told by Dave Chisholm, colored by DreamWorks Animation Director Peter Markowski and featuring a foreword by Hall of Fame basketball legend and cultural icon, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, “Chasin’ the Bird,” named for Parker’s 1947 standard, adapts one of the sunnier, albeit darker chapters in the life of Bird. The graphic novel is available for pre-order now directly through the Z2 webstore, as either a standard or a deluxe edition, with two tracks to be announced on a Flexidisc in the standard version and an accompanying 45” LP for the deluxe version when purchased exclusively via the store. Early reviews have been nothing short of glowing with Comic Bookcase hailing it as “One of the best graphic novels of the year.”
Bird In LA and “Chasin’ The Bird” will be the subject of a virtual panel hosted by the GRAMMY Museum® in Los Angeles in October. More details will be forthcoming.
Parker’s music will also enter the visual realm via a new video for his much beloved rendition of the Gershwins’ “Summertime” launching this month.
The August birthday festivities will kick off this Friday, August 7 with the vinyl reissue of The Magnificent Charlie Parker on black vinyl via Verve/UMe, following the limited release on yellow vinyl for Record Store Day Black Friday in November 2019 which launched Bird 100 last year. The sumptuous LP brings together all of Parker’s 78 RPM singles for Clef Records, recorded in January and August 1951 and featuring a veritable line-up of jazz greats including Miles Davis, Charles Mingus, Gil Evans, Max Roach, Roy Haynes, and Kenny Clarke.
The first installment of this year’s “socially distanced” three-day Record Store Day extravaganza falls on Parker’s 100th birthday, August 29, and Bird aficionados will receive the gift of a reissue of Jazz at Midnite on midnight blue vinyl. The album documents stunning performances recorded live in 1952 and 1953 at the Howard Theatre in Washington, D.C. featuring stellar band members Max Roach, Charlie Byrd, Zoot Sims and more.
Later in the year, Verve/UMe will release a vinyl box set of Parker’s complete Clef 10” albums featuring David Stone Martin’s iconic illustrated covers. Charlie Parker: The Clef 10” Albums Collection will include five extraordinary albums Parker recorded for Norman Granz’s Clef Records: Bird and Diz, Charlie Parker, Charlie Parker Plays South Of The Border, Charlie Parker With Strings and Charlie Parker With Strings (Vol. 2). The LPs will feature newly remastered audio from the original analog tapes and will include faithful reproductions of the classic artwork and packaging for the first time in more than six decades. The albums will be pressed on 180-gram black 10” vinyl and will be housed in a custom slipcase. Representing Bird’s fruitful late ‘40s to mid-50s Clef period, the albums have never been released together, and all but Bird and Diz have been out of print on vinyl since their original releases.
The cover art of several Parker album featuring David Stone Martin’s iconic illustrations are also now available for purchase as archival quality, framed canvas prints exclusively via uDiscover. The high-end wall art is customizable in a variety of sizes and includes the albums: Big Band, Machito Jazz With Flip & Bird, The Magnificent Charlie Parker, Charlie Parker With Strings and Charlie Parker With Strings (Vol. 2). The Savoy 10-inch Collection, highlighting Parker’s pioneering bebop recordings for Savoy Records from 1944-1948, will make its debut as a CD box set later this year. Many of the events planned to celebrate Parker have taken new forms. Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage's annual Charlie Parker Jazz Festival in NYC has shifted to a digital content series. Most recently this past weekend, drummer and historian Jerome Jennings hosted a Q&A session with the Executive Artistic Director of SummerStage and Charlie Parker Jazz Festival, Erika Elliott and co-founder of the Charlie Parker Jazz Festival Sam Turvey, where they discussed the history and relevance of the beloved festival in the New York culture scene as well as the legacy of Bird in his centennial year. The conversation can be viewed on the SummerStage YouTube channel along with programming from last month which includes a “Culture Talk” with Sheila Jordan and Christian McBride and a Q&A with jazz historian Ashley Khan and multi-instrumentalist and composer Miguel Atwood-Ferguson (view here) which proceeded a screening of his acclaimed 2012 Charlie Parker with Strings performance available to watch in full here.
The annual Charlie Parker Event in Kansas City, Mo., which began in 2014, will also look a bit different this year and will include a mix of in-person and virtual events.
