GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum selling Atlantic recording artist Cardi B continues to make history with the explosive success of her new single, “ WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion) ” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 today. The blockbuster track, RIAA certified gold in its first week, has quickly broken multiple records including the highest streaming first week by a female artist, the highest streaming first week of 2020, and one of the top 3 hip-hop streaming debuts of all time. The record-breaking single extends Cardi B’s own record as the female rapper with the most Hot 100 #1s, now four songs with the inclusion of “WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion).” The track also makes Cardi the first female rapper to have a #1 on the Hot 100 in two different decades, and the 3rd female rapper to debut at #1 on the Hot 100 as a lead artist.“WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” affirmed Cardi B as one of Apple Music’s most popular artists of all time, earning the platform’s highest ever debut by a female artist as well as the fastest song in Apple Music history by a female artist to peak at #1. The track’s chart-topping success marks Cardi’s seventh #1 track at Apple Music – the most by any female artist in the service’s five-year history. What’s more, the track makes Cardi the first female rapper to have two songs hit #1 on the global Spotify chart with DJ Snake’s 3x Platinum “ Taki Taki (with Selena Gomez, Ozuna, and Cardi B) ” and “WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion).”
Produced by Ayo & Keyz, “ WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion) ” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services  HERE ; an official companion video – directed by Colin Tilley and featuring cameos from an all-female cast that includes Normani, Kylie Jenner, Rosalía, Mulatto, Rubi Rose, and Sukihana – is available for viewing via YouTube  HERE . The clip has also proven a record-shattering landmark, earning the biggest-ever debut week for an all-female hip-hop collaboration of 2020 on the platform with 41.9 million US views and 82.3 million views globally.
Along with its epic popular success, “WAP (Feat. Megan Thee Stallion)” – which marks Cardi’s first release since 2019’s RIAA platinum certified single, “Press” – was met with rapturous critical attention around the world, with the Los Angeles Times declaring it “a savage, nasty, sex-positive triumph.” “WAP” is “a nasty-ass rap bop,” wrote Pitchfork, “bursting with the personality of two of rap’s most congenial household names.” “WAP” is “an event record that transcends the event itself,” raved the New York Times. “In their verses, both Cardi and Megan are exuberant, sharp and extremely, extremely vividly detailed.” “Cardi and Megan are powerhouses of female sexuality, independence, and dominance,” enthused Complex. “In a male-dominated genre that is often criticized for misogynistic wordplay toward women, the two rappers have never shied away from taking back the narrative of femininity in hip-hop. And during a time when Black women have taken to social media to advocate for their protection and support, while basking in their blackness, (‘WAP’) couldn’t be more timely.”
Cardi B’s rambunctious spirit and brave tongue have made her one of the most iconic superstars of this or any other era – an adored entertainer, acclaimed actress, and of course, world-renowned rapper. “INVASION OF PRIVACY”– which was certified gold by the RIAA on its day of release, the first-ever album by a female artist to achieve that milestone – made an equally extraordinary chart debut atop the SoundScan/Billboard 200, further entering a number of additional charts at #1, including “Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums,” “Top Rap Albums,” and “Top Digital Albums.”
Named “Best Rap Album” at the 2019 GRAMMY® Awards – establishing Cardi in the history books as the first solo female artist to win that prestigious category – the now 3x Platinum “INVASION OF PRIVACY” is highlighted by a truly remarkable string of chart-busting singles, including two #1 classics in the 9x RIAA platinum certified “Bodak Yellow” and the 8x platinum certified smash, “I Like It,” featuring Bad Bunny and J Balvin, as well the 3x platinum certified “Bartier Cardi (Feat. 21 Savage)” and “Be Careful,” the 2x platinum “Ring (Feat. Kehlani),” and the platinum certified “Best Life (Feat. Chance the Rapper),” “I Do (Feat. SZA),” and “Drip (Feat. Migos).” Furthermore, all of the LP’s remaining tracks have proved gold certified or higher, affirming Cardi as the first female rapper to achieve that historic feat.
Cardi followed “INVASION OF PRIVACY” with 2018’s 4x platinum certified “Money” and 2019’s 3x platinum “Please Me,” the latter her second collaboration with her longtime friend and labelmate Bruno Mars. 2019 also saw the platinum certified single, “Press,” and a gold certified feature on Ed Sheeran’s “South of the Border (Feat. Camila Cabello & Cardi B).” Along with new music, Cardi recently used her platform to partner with the NY census for a PSA on the importance of completing the census, streaming  HERE .
The first female artist to have five top 10 singles simultaneously on Billboard’s “Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs” chart as well as the first female rapper to boast four #1 hits on the “Hot 100,” Cardi has been honored with a stunning range of prestigious awards and nominations, including eight total GRAMMY® Award nominations, four BET Awards, 11 BET Hip-Hop Awards, four American Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, six ASCAP Pop Music Awards, 20 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, seven Billboard Music Awards, four iHeartRadio Music Awards, three iHeartRadio Titanium Awards, three Soul Train Music Awards, two Teen Choice Awards, and five Guinness World Records thus far.
Cardi has graced the covers of countless publications in recent years, including but not limited to Cosmopolitan, Rolling StoneThe New York Times Magazinei-D MagazineCR Fashion BookW Magazine’s annual Art Issue, Harper’s BAZAAR’s Spring Fashion Issue, PEOPLE en Español (where she was named “Star of the Year”),  Vogue  alongside her 2-year-old daughter Kulture, and most recently  ELLE
Furthermore, Cardi has made an unstoppable series of high profile appearances, including a hilarious installment of “Carpool Karaoke” on CBS’ The Late Late Show with James Corden, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! during their popular Brooklyn Week, a stellar performance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and an historic installment of NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where she served as both musical guest and the first-ever co-host in show history. What’s more, Cardi tore the house down at a number of major awards ceremonies, including the MTV Video Music Awards, the American Music Awards, the GRAMMY® Awards, and both the BET Awards and BET Hip-Hop Awards.

DONNA MISSAL RELEASES “BEDROOM SESSIONS”

DONNA MISSAL RELEASES “BEDROOM SESSIONS”
The Four Intimate Performance Videos Reimagine Songs From Her New Album, Lighter
View All Four “Bedroom Sessions” Videos HERE Donna Missal - Slow Motion (Bedroom Sessions)

DOWNLOAD / STREAM LIGHTER HERE:http://donnamissal.lnk.to/Lighter
Donna Missal performs intimate versions of four songs from her new album, Lighter (Harvest Records), in the “Bedroom Sessions” videos – a quartet of self-directed videos. After giving fans a first look at the “Bedroom Sessions” for “Slow Motion,” “Bloom,” “Who Loves You” and “Carefully” on Instagram, all four videos are now available for viewing on YouTube HERE.
The videos were shot in the bedroom of Donna’s Los Angeles home, with the exception of “Slow Motion,” which was lensed in the backyard of her childhood home in New Jersey.
“These videos were made by taking new instrumental interpretations of songs from Lighter and performing to them live,” says Donna Missal. “I made projections using footage captured throughout the process of creating Lighter and cast them over myself to be immersed in them. I recorded the performances live by capturing audio and visual at the same time, using a laptop camera and my recording set up, thrown about my bed or the floor.”
Releasing an album in the midst of lockdown gave Donna the inspiration for “Bedroom Sessions.” She explains, “I wanted this series to represent live performance in a way that is shaped by the environment, to bring live performing into an intimate space, using digital mediums to create and share. From the shifting paradigm for the way artists connect to listeners, along with the inability to tour an album live, we're all trying to fill the void – connect, and create. ‘Bedroom Sessions’ is a take on the challenge of staying close to others through music, even from far away.”
While “Slow Motion” appears as a moving piano ballad on the album, Donna casts the song with swelling stings on the powerful “Bedroom Sessions” version. An ode to letting go, “Slow Motion” takes on fresh meaning when sung from her childhood home. Seated on the grass where she played as a child, Donna wears a sequined gown, mic in hand, juxtaposing her past with the present. View the “Bedroom Sessions” version of “Slow Motion” HERE and check out the original track HERE. Donna Missal - Bloom (Bedroom Sessions) Donna’s emotional vocals are at the forefront in each self-produced video, but she also received some long-distance help. Los Angeles-based singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Liv Slingerland plays guitar on “Bloom.” Infused with a raw tenderness, the song unfolds in the shadow of night as Donna declares, “I don’t want to be the reason you don’t shine, realize I’m standing in your light…I don’t want to be the reason you don’t bloom.” With its sparse arrangement, “Carefully” cuts to the quick of a relationship, with Donna accompanied by her brother Steve Missal on guitar. With a backdrop that evokes a stunning sky at sundown, Donna delivers an ethereal, layered “Who Loves You,” manipulating an Omnichord and recording vocals on two microphones to render a lush soundscape.
Donna has amassed over 35 million global streams in her career to date. In a feature that put Donna “In Conversation” with Shania Twain, Interview Magazine said, “Missal’s thunderous vocals, mixed with her poignant lyrics and a country-meets-90s rock attitude, transformed the record into a wildfire of emotional upheaval making way for growth accompanied by a newfound sense of creative empowerment; one that comes from being in full control of her story.”
“Indie rock darling Donna Missal delivered the goods with her sophomore album Lighter, giving fans a brand-new look at her songwriting skills, while largely maintaining the soulful sound they'd fallen in love with,” said Billboard, which included “Let You Let Me Down” in its list of “The 25 Best Songs By LGBTQ Artists In 2020 (So Far).” Atwood Magazine observed, “It’s a bleary-eyed, mascara-stained album – messy, raw, and utterly genius.” The New Nine noted, “Donna is the badass artist we need right now… Missal is unforgettable, the pure force of her voice can radiate through a room reaching the deepest corners, but at the same time be so soft and delicate. The way she moves through every realm between the two extremes gives you chills.”Donna Missal Photo Credit: Erica Hernandez

ULTRAFLEX. Musicians Farao & Special-K team up for debut album 'Visions of Ultraflex' due out 30th Oct

Ultraflex is made up of Norway's Farao & Icelandic musician Special-K. Today they're announcing their debut album 'Visions of Ultraflex' is set for release Oct 30th. Packed with playful disco pop, the new single & video from the record "Work Out Tonight" is online now.

Speaking about the video, the band said "'Work Out Tonight' is the first in a trilogy of Ultraflex videos directed by genius artist and our good friend OKAY KAYA. Bathing, sunshine, pickles... We decided to give our fans a special glimpse into our everyday lifestyle."

Visions of Ultraflex’, the self produced album by Icelandic/Norwegian duo Ultraflex is a joyride through a disco theme park. The conflux of the individually accomplished artists, Farao (NO) and Special-K (ISO), channels the cheekily frank Icelandic nature through Norwegian acuteness and reason, resulting in an interdisciplinary artistic collaboration that oozes charisma. The pair met when they were both living in Berlin and had mutual artistic crushes on each other. The opportunity to collaborate arose when they were hired to make a piece for the Scandinavian electronic music festivals Insomnia and Extreme Chill in 2019. After a few short, intense writing sessions in the remote Westfjords of Iceland, the arctic Tromsø and Berlin, they managed to construct their sound, image and debut album.Visions of Ultraflex’ is a cocktail of contemporary disco and futuristic boogie, the production style falling somewhere between Peggy Gou and The Rah Band, topped with lyrics and vocal performances reminiscent of Easter, Saâda Bonaire, and Janet Jackson. Live, they perform exercise routines in synchronisation with visuals largely based on 80’s Soviet aerobics, which goes well with their overall fashion output, a look that would make Lotta Volkova proud. The project has an easily detectable background in fine art, an everpresent tinge of wit and self irony enveloping everything.Their music videos, many of which are made by fellow Norwegian pop artist OKAY KAYA, are a sophisticated blend of camp and chic and their internet presence is as nonsensical as it is carefully curated. The album gently glides open on a lingering high-pitched string sample, which little by little blossoms into the fully formed synth bouquet that is "Get Fit". Along comes a bouncy and borderline corny bassline accompanied by a pumping 80’s drum beat. The only vocals are the band’s watermark ‘Ultraflex’ and the occasionally repeated phrase: "Get fit, get ripped, get a lover, get kids". This inviting opener establishes the lush and mischievous world we are about to enter.

After this appetiser we’re hit full force by "Work Out Tonight", a track that fully showcases the band's brashness. Overtly sexual sport metaphors are whispered atop a naked drum beat and thrusting bass line, and via a breezy pre-chorus we take a dive into the deep and sensual chorus: "I’m gonna make you work it tonight, gonna make you work out tonight." The ever present cheekiness climaxes with a lewd dialogue between a man who wanders into the women’s dressing room and the person he encounters there.Sunny instrumental "Papaya", with its glittering saxophone solo and a dell’Orso-esque interlude, perfectly sets the mood for the melancholic dance anthem "Never Forget My Baby". The effortlessness with which the girl’s voices blend together in the chorus and the sentimental, verging on saccharine, lyrics make this song stand out in an already delicious assortment. This luminous dreamboat sails and sinks into the next track, "Man U Sheets", which contains considerably more shade. A remorseful saxophone opens the door to a roaring bassline and heavy beat as we are told a merciless tale of adolescent sexual debuts. The slightly dissonant chords and the deadpan delivery of the lyrics enhance the awkwardness of the subject. The next track "Olympic Sweat" lightens the mood with a Michal Rother-esque harmonised solo and a slow yet triumphant tempo, allowing us to lean into the bright stream of synths and chimes feeling like we’ve just crossed a finish-line in slow motion.

Right before the end we reach the final energetic crest – the bold and seductive "Full Of Lust", with exaggeratedly sensual vocals and bratty lyrics like "When I tell you I’m tired, you light up a smoke, tryna fill up the silence when I don’t laugh at your jokes". The album concludes with the repetitive and wacky "Secret Lover" with sentences spoken by Farao in a thick Norwegian accent from the perspective of a private investigator. The last words of the album are accurately: "So we’ve done a good job. Very happy with our work".Musically and conceptually, ‘Visions of Ultraflex’ is a seductive and inventive debut. Glimmering through it all is the warm and playful relationship between Special-K and Farao; they seem to have found a home in each other where they can progress musically while feeling relaxed enough to be nonsensical. "With our solo projects we are both miserable and lonely, so we are coming together like step sisters or lovers to keep each other warm when it’s cold outside", they say about their unification. Ultraflex brings us a bundle of joy, self-irony and snarky attitude wrapped up in danceable beats – it’s a breath of fresh air in today’s intricate landscape, reminding us that we must not forget to have fun.

'Visions of Ultraflex' track list:
1. Get Fit
2. Work Out Tonight (Youtube)
3. Papaya
4. Never Forget My Baby
5. Man U Sheets

“Lookin’ For A Leader 2020”
Leaders walk among usand I hope they hear our call.Maybe it’s a womanor a black man after all.Lookin’ for a leaderto bring our country home, reunite the red white and bluebefore it turns to stone.
Lookin’ for somebodyWith the strength to take it on;keep us safe togetherand make this country strong.Walkin’  among our peopleThere’s someone to lead us on;lead a rainbow of colorsin a broken world gone wrong.
Yeah, we had Barack Obamaand we really need him now.The man who stood behind himhas to take his place somehow.America has a leaderbuilding walls around our house. He don’t know black lives matterand we got to vote him out.
We got our election, but corruption has a chanceWe got to have a big winto regain confidence.America is beautifulbut she has an ugly side. We’re lookin’ for a leaderin this country far and wide.
Just like his big new fence, this president’s goin’ down.America’s movin’ forward. You can feel it in every town.Scared of his own shadow, building walls around our house,he’s hidin’ in his bunker;something else to lie about.
We don’t need a leaderbuilding walls around our housewho don’t know black lives matterand it’s time to vote him out! We’re lookin’ for a leaderwith The Great Spirit on his side;lookin’ for a leaderin this country far and wide.Lookin’ for a leaderwith The Great Spirit on his side.

POPPY RELEASES I DISAGREE (MORE), DELUXE EDITION INCLUDES FOUR NEW SONGS

POPPY RELEASES I DISAGREE (MORE), DELUXE EDITION OF AMBITIOUS ALBUM INCLUDES FOUR NEW SONGS

LISTEN TO I DISAGREE (MORE): https://smarturl.it/idisagreemore

Post-genre art and music visionary Poppy has just released an expanded edition of her boundlessly ambitious recent album I Disagree. Dubbed I Disagree (more), the deluxe version of the album adds four new songs and is out now via Sumerian Records. The album's variegated nature embodies "alternative" in the truest sense of the word, bleeding the boundaries between pop, progressive, electronic, and metal, underpinned by unpredictable time signature shifts and indelible earworm vocal hooks.
The new release lands half a year since her headlining tour wrapped up, a coast to coast whirlwind that included sold out shows in some of the biggest venues she'd performed yet (including sell outs in San Francisco, Portland, Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, two consecutive nights in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and more) and two months since her cover of "All The Things She Said" hit DSPs and became an instant viral sensation. Her quiet rise from incalculable phenomenon (with over half-a-billion views on YouTube) to unassuming paragon of high culture, high fashion, and high art fueled her metamorphosis to "Poppy Version X." She explains that "in terms of doing what I wanted to in every element from start-to-finish, this feels like my first album. The narrative is really about destroying the things that try to destroy you." Poppy carefully constructed the sonic framework for this reinvention, an unfiltered and unfettered creative ecosystem of her own design.

I Disagree (more)
"[I Disagree] solidifies the artist's jarring shift toward rebellious genre-blurring: she leans hardest into scary heavy metal, and somehow blends in sugary J-pop references and folksy Beatles-esque harmonics. If you're scratching your head, fine, but trust me: it all really works." - PAPER"Part of the joy in I Disagree comes in how overwhelming it is. No single passage lasts very long, which gives even the prettier moments an unstable feeling, like everything might at any moment crumble into a void of distortion and noise." - PITCHFORK"While the sheer amount of sound that Poppy crams into I Disagree can be overwhelming, the payoff is a genuine thrill... As both a symbolic avatar for her life changes and a strong empowerment statement, I Disagree celebrates Poppy's rebirth as a pop-metal alchemist and unabashed rule-breaker." - ALL MUSIC GUIDE"I Disagree is boundless and a product of Poppy's own design. She has expanded her musicality while also challenging genre conventions. A major shift from her previous endeavors, I Disagree will challenge her established fans while amassing new appreciation for the artist." - POPMATTERS

THE KILLERS Release New Single "Dying Breed"

“DYING BREED”THE NEW SINGLE - OUT NOW!Imploding The Mirage - The Album, Out Next Week!
Ahead of the release of their new album, Imploding The Mirage, released next Friday on Island Records, THE KILLERS have shared their incredible new single, “Dying Breed,” out now. Already bubbling under as a fan favorite after Brandon Flowers and Ronnie Vannucci shared a sneak preview of it during a live Q&A session during lockdown, the song follows earlier singles “Caution,” which has grown into one of the band’s biggest ever radio hits, and “My Own Soul’s Warning.”
LISTEN TO “DYING BREED” HERE!!
The artwork for “Dying Breed” is another stunning painting by the artist Thomas Blackshear, who painted the piece the band is using as artwork for the new album.
The Killers recently released replacement dates for their unavoidably postponed UK and Ireland 2020 stadium tour, with rescheduled dates for all original shows now taking place in May/June next year. The tour, the band’s biggest ever, sold out in hours when initial dates went on sale late last year, but fans have been assured that all tickets held for the original dates will be honoured and are transferable to the corresponding 2021 show. New dates are:
Tuesday 25th May 2021 DONCASTER, KEEPMOAT STADIUM **   Thursday 27th May 2021  BRISTOL, ASHTON GATE STADIUM ##        Saturday 29th May 2021 COVENTRY, RICOH STADIUM ##                   Monday 31st May 2021 SOUTHAMPTON, ST MARY’S STADIUM **Wednesday 2nd June 2021 NORWICH, CARROW ROAD STADIUM **Friday 4th June 2021 LONDON, EMIRATES STADIUM ^^Saturday 5th June 2021 LONDON, EMIRATES STADIUM ^^                   Tuesday 8th June 2021 FALKIRK, THE FALKIRK STADIUM **    Thursday 10th June 2021 MIDDLESBROUGH, RIVERSIDE STADIUM ##Saturday 12th June 2021 MANCHESTER, EMIRATES OLD TRAFFORD **Tuesday 15th June 2021 DUBLIN, MALAHIDE CASTLE^^Wednesday 16th June 2021 DUBLIN, MALAHIDE CASTLE ^^

Imploding The Mirage is The Killers’ sixth studio album and the follow up to 2017’s chart topping Wonderful Wonderful. Produced by the band in conjunction with Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado of Foxygen, the album was recorded in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and Park City, Utah. It is the first Killers album to be written and recorded since the band left their hometown of Las Vegas and it features a brilliant array of collaborators, another first for the group, who have typically kept guest spots on their albums to a minimum. The list of featured artists includes Lindsey Buckingham, kd lang, Weyes Blood, Adam Granduciel, Blake Mills, and Lucius.   Since the release of their 2004 debut, Hot Fuss, The Killers have sold 28 million albums, headlined stadiums and festivals around the world and won dozens of accolades globally. The band continues their reign as America’s heartland heroes as they head into Imploding The Mirage.  Following their 2017 #1 (UK and US) album, Wonderful Wonderful - a love letter of sorts, as Brandon Flowers crafted songs of encouragement to his wife during crippling bouts of depression - Imploding The Mirage is the light after the dark; the overcoming of sadness and moving into celebration. It’s a record about eternal love, perseverance through hard times, and the strength gained from friendships and familial bonds whilst weathering a storm.

FIRST AID KITRELEASE ARCHIVED COVER OF “ON THE ROAD AGAIN” TO BENEFIT CREW NATION(Credit: Nirrimi Firebrace -

First Aid Kit—Johanna and Klara Söderberg—share their archived cover of Willie Nelson’s classic “On The Road Again” today, alongside an incredibly charming homemade tour video. The band’s first release since 2018’s Ruins LP and Tender Offerings EP, “On The Road Again” is a previously unreleased cover that First Aid Kit made 7+ years ago, and is another lovely addition to their extensive catalog of covers. Proceeds will be donated to Crew Nation in support of the global touring community until everyone can, in fact, be on the road again. Stream/purchase the song HERE.
Listen to “On The Road Again” and watch the video, culled from the band’s tour footage and edited entirely by Johanna prior to giving birth to her daughter a few weeks ago, now. First Aid Kit - On the Road Again (Cover) First Aid Kit on the release of “On The Road Again”:
We're excited to release our version of “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson. We recorded this cover a couple of years ago and recently found it while digging through the archives. The song is a country classic, it feels like we've known it forever. Because of the situation with COVID, sadly, the theme of the song has never felt more relevant than it does today.
We made a video for the song using cellphone footage from our tours throughout the years. Going through all those videos made us emotional. It made us realize how much we appreciate being able to roam freely around the world. How much we love the feeling of playing live for people, in the flesh. How much we miss our incredible band and crew.
All the proceeds from the streaming of the song will go to Crew Nation. So much of the magic happens behind the stage. It's easily taken for granted, but without our touring and venue crew live music wouldn't be possible. It's important that we help them out right now.
Oh, how we wish we could get back on the road again! Hopefully we'll see you down the road sometime soon.
Crew Nation on the release of “On The Road Again”:
“Crew Nation is extremely grateful to Johanna and Klara for finding a way to support the members of crew who have been forced off the road and out of work,” said Nurit Smith, Executive Director, Music Forward Foundation. “These music crews spend their lives touring with artists, so it’s wonderful to have special tribute to those unseen magical moments with this song and video.”

Caroline Polachek. Sydney-born producer and DJ, Logic1000, applies her signature sound of UK-centric dance rhythms, hyper-accurate digital synths and disembodied textures to the original. Logic1000, aka Samantha Poulter is a recent Because Music signee who has previously remixed for the likes of Låpsley and Don Toliver. Her eponymous self-titled debut EP has already racked up over 1.2 million streams and received the nod of approval by dance scene behemoths Four Tet and Carl Craig. PC Music head honcho, A. G. Cook is known for his nightcore style amplifying the clichés of mainstream pop music from the 1990s-2000s and his ongoing collaboration with Charli XCX. Populous is a Queer activist and Italian DJ and beatmaker at Wonderwheel recordings. Real name Andrea Mangihas, his Last album ‘W’ is a tribute to free and diverse feminine musical imagery, taking rhythmic influences from around the globe. The original is taken from her stunning 5 track La vita nuova EP and short film, which has received rave reviews and accolades for “Best Of The Year So Far-releases by NPR, Time, Billboard, The Ringer, Consequence of Sound etc. Listen / buy La vita nuova REMIXES EP01. Produced by Christine and the Queens and Ash Workman, the EP is available digitally, on CD and vinyl on Because Music. La vita nuova arrives with an accompanying short film of the same name, imagined by Christine and featuring the EP’s five new songs in as many sequences. The 14 minute film is an inward journey that sees the artist invest Opéra Garnier, the world famous Paris opera house, filling it with stories of ghosts and mythical creatures. Through the lens of long-time collaborator Colin Solal Cardo (Robyn, Charli XCX) and with choreography by Ryan Heffington (Sia “Chandelier” VMA Award 2014, Grammy nominated), Christine and her dancers appear in succession on the Opéra rooftop, its grand stage and most secret recesses, culminating into a feverish moment with Caroline Polachek, a collaborator on the EP’s title track. Chris has performed her single “People, I’ve been sad” live from her window in Paris for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert HERE, her track “I disappear in your arms” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon HERE. Besides producing and filming unique cover versions of The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights” HERE, Travis Scott’s “Highest In The Room” HERE and Neil Young’s “Heart of Gold” HERE while in quarantine, Christine and the Queens participated in Global Citizen’s “One World: Together at Home” HERE to celebrate and support healthcare workers in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. La vita nuova followed 18 months of live shows, collaborations and international distinctions, around the release of Christine and the Queens’ breathtaking second album Chris. Most recently, Christine and the Queens collaborated with Charli XCX on the acclaimed single “Gone,” released last autumn and a mainstay of 2019’s end of year lists. Chris was written, arranged, produced and performed by Christine and the Queens, and charted at #3 in the official UK album chart; it has been certified silver in the UK. Chris is the follow up to her already-iconic debut record Chaleur Humaine, released to near-universal acclaim in France in 2014, the USA as self-titled Christine and the Queens, selling more than 1.4 million copies worldwide to date. Christine and the Queens received a GLAAD Media Awards nomination, her second nomination for International Female Solo Artist at the BRIT Awards 2019, was named Q Icon at the Q Awards 2019 and won the Artist Award at the Attitude Awards 2019. She starred in numerous artist, album and song of the decade lists.  http://christineandthequeens.comhttp://www.instagram.com/christineandthequeenshttp://www.twitter.com/queenschristinehttp://www.because.tv
