Under the Rug by Joe Scieszka - 5 Stars. For being such a short story I was laughing my butt off at the whimsical nonsense of a dust monster! I’m planning to hopefully read 2 short stories a day so I can finish it next week! :)

Archie Smith, Boy Wonder by Tabitha King - 3 Stars. I don’t know if it’s my own imagination that got the best of me but for the first short story it was Meh feeling. Disappointing especially coming from Stephen King’s wife who I’ve always heard was a better writer than him.

Finished Han Solo issue #1. So far it’s alright. I have to remind myself where this story takes place cause automatically in my head Leia and Solo are a couple. I’m curious how this story connects to the Star Wars universe.

I’m addicted to the BBC/HBO Adaptation which so far has been incredibly faithful towards the novel but I don’t have the patience for Monday to arrive for the season finale. Plus I have the trilogy and I need to how this series ends. Hopefully I can finish before the New Year!

I had no idea what I was getting myself into in regards to this graphic novel. I’m really liking it!

This is getting good! I’m reading this while listening to the audiobook and I got to say it definitely enhances the experience with Michael C. Hall’s voice. Dexter with undead cats I love it! Haha

I’m excited to read this book and I wished I had started it sooner! This is my bookclub selection and the meeting is tomorrow! Yikes! Luckily no one ever finishes a novel which defeats the purpose of book club but at least they are trying!

This is getting good! Javi still being MIA concerns me but I was right about Silas!! I have no idea how this ends. Supposedly there’s a plot twist.

I have a feeling that Sadie killed her mother. It was a bit terrifying confronting Silas and I want to know what she found in his safety deposit box!!! I swear this book can be a bit addicting. I still prefer the podcast over Sadie’s drama.

I’ve been wanting to read this book for years and for the simple fact that it’s 525,600 pages it’s the reason why I haven’t read it but luckily one of my favorite booktubers is doing a readalong for the film adaptation. Pretty much 17-18 pages a day will keep the doctors away! Hopefully I can stick with this book. So far I want to cry.

I am really liking this book but I do admit I actually care more about the podcast than Sadie’s chapters. The fact that the podcast have fewer pages is getting me a bit furious. But hopefully that remedies itself. And if it doesn’t please don’t tell me I want to actually finish this book! :)

If you have never listened to Serial podcast go listen to Season one with the case of Adnan Syed. That was the podcast that got me addicted and scared the bejesus out of me. I can’t wait to dive deeper into this book! Also if you listen to this in audiobook format you get a whole podcast feel which is cool! Goodnight!

So far I have no clue what I am reading and yet I feel sad about these two women because I understand where they are coming from.

Yea my suspension of disbelief is not fully functional but I am actually liking this last bit of the end. Allegorical stories seems not to work with me because it omits the logic of common sense for me at the moment!

I understand perfectly what Orwell is going for by writing this allegorical fable but I have to admit my suspension of disbelief doesn’t work for certain scenes. Overall I love that the writing is very simplistic.

I haven’t read this since 9th grade and even then I didn’t read the full novella. So I’m curious the 24 year old version of me will feel about this book. Plus I’m reading this alongside with the boyfriend which is one of his favorites.

This is sooooo cute! Adorable story and the illustrations are fantastic!

THE READING RUSH BEGINS!!!!

It’s interesting seeing this story come to life in illustrations but to be honest I don’t know how to summarize my feelings about it. I feel this is meant for pre-teens/teens and there’s some level of creative licensing.

It breaks my heart seeing the dissolution of a family in front of my eyes. I’m waiting for the part when America starts becoming Nazi Germany. It scares me how easy it is for democracy can be taken away!

This book terrifies me! You can switch Jews to LGBTQ, African-American, Latinx or any minority, and switch Hitler to Putin and you got yourself 2019 living in America with Agent Orange. The fact that this book was written a decade before 2016 makes me squirm with fear as to what will happen with these characters.

WOW. This is scary! I knew what I was getting myself into but the parallels of this novel to Trump’s presidential campaign is frightening me to no end!

I didn’t have the best experience reading The Catcher in the Rye in high school but I’ve heard his short stories are fantastic so I’m giving it a try. A Perfect Day for Bananafish was alright. I see how the symbolism and undertones are power but overall it was a meh story. 3.5/5

For all the films, documentaries, and tv shows I’ve seen about the Holocaust and Anne Frank I’ve never read the actual diary. I’m curious how reading the definitive edition will change my perception.
