I wish I could have tackled this collection of poems tonight but my brain is exhausted from reading The Graveyard Book: The Graphic Novel. Good Night everyone!

I think I picked the perfect time to read this book of poems from my former professor!

I had to read this in 10th grade and I remember reading snippets of it and then sparknotes it. I remember I liked the plot but then again I didn’t read the whole novel. So far it’s a slow start with 1000000 interruptions to ruin my momentum.

I’ve seen the film at least twice in my life and yet I find the novel so far interesting. It almost makes me forget that I’ve seen the film. So far I get excited whenever Clarice gets to speak with Hannibal Lecter

So Washington is definitely was not a self-made American. His father build Mount Vernon so of course he grew up in rich upper class status. It’s interesting reading GW as a real person instead of the Mythos that is taught in school. Definitely had mommy issues!

I love Gene Luen Yang graphic novels! It’s interesting how I am on the same boat as he when it comes to sports. I’ll watch and read anything about athletes but force me to watch ESPN and I’ll fall asleep.

I’m really liking it so far but I can totally see how frustrating the Little Prince character. While wise I sense a bit of a brat to be honest. Hehe

It’s taken me years but I am glad to finally read this cute book! Good night everyone! :)

I’m almost half-way into book one and all I got to say is I have no clue where this is going. So far my favorite characters are Nick and Stu. Larry I’m 50/50 about but I’m happy that I finally met Randall Flagg. I don’t know if I should be happy considering he’s the greatest villain in the Stephen King universe. Good night everyone! :)

Haven’t been reading the last couple of days and for a quick second I thought it would ruin me but now I’ve gotten back to my flow. So far I’m enjoying this book and it is extremely relevant today! Every time someone doesn’t take it serious, they get infected and reminds me of COVID-19! WASH YOUR HANDS and SOCIAL DISTANCING! Goodnight everyone and be safe! :D

I have a major headache so I’m calling it quits for tonight. I’m getting a little bit of Dickensian out of Stephen King with all these character introductions. I’m ready for the disease to wreak havoc! Good night everyone!

I don’t want to psyche myself out but with everything is going on right now and the fact Stephen King is calling my attention I think I found my next book selection for this crisis. Hopefully again I don’t psyche myself out and don’t read it.

I really love that Lennie broke Curley’s hand but I know for sure somehow they will regret it soon.

The amount of foreshadowing in the second chapter makes me wish I could scream at George to legit gtfo of the farm with Lenny.

I never read the book in it’s entirety because I had to read The Pearl in High School and I was livid after that experience that I dismissed Steinbeck all together. I finished the first chapter and I want to cry already. Steinbeck foreshadows clearly this is not going to end happily ever after.

I know I can read more but I don’t want to burn myself out when I hopefully finish this novel tomorrow! So far I’m really liking it but I feel as though certain parts are not believable but then again I’m reading ya gay romance with fluff written all over. I like the NASA element and now I got to the juicy part. Cal reminds me of Monica from Friends. Major OCD control freak.

Finally they kissed! Cal definitely annoys me but he’s getting better as we speak! Super cute story! :)

I’m really liking this book but I have to mention Cal annoys and frustrates me. Plus I have to say he’s a bit of a shi%%y friend. I needed fluff and I’m getting what I deserve! :)

I’m thoroughly impressed by this audiobook! I can’t stress enough how this is definitely a must-read book! If it’s possible please listen to it on audiobook format, you won’t regret it!

I’ve never read this book even though I’ve seen the Gene Wilder version a thousand times as a child. I have to admit no one can sing Pure Imagination the same way he does! So far I’m enjoying it but it’s crazy to believe that Oompa Loompas were originally African Black Pygmies. Yikes!

I’m very curious as to what this book is about. I have like 5 different ideas how this story is going to end and yet I’m still clueless. Overall I feel the novel is authentic with a bit of fluff. Which is extremely hard as a Cuban-American myself who grew up on the horrors of my grandparents escaping Cuba in the 1960s!

Damn this book is sooo good and horrifying! I can’t begin to imagine how naive it is to think our way of living can somehow change the culture of the past. I fear for Dana!!

I’m so excited to read this book and I hope the concept of the plot doesn’t overhype the writing! I feel like the upcoming film, Antebellum, stoled ideas from this novel! I can’t begin to imagine the horrors that is going to happen in this novel!!

I wish I could speed up the process but that is not the point of poetry! You are suppose to take your time and digest what is being presented! I swear Joy Harjo is one of my favorite poets now! :)

I love how spiritual this collection of poems but omg it is so sad! I have to take these poems in doses so I time myself to 30 minutes in order to appreciate and grow with these poems.

WOW! First time reading Joy Harjo and I gotta say that this woman does not hold back and she doesn’t have to. I heard and read once that trauma of our ancestors can be transferred passed down genetically so it’s horrifying to realize the suffering Native Americans have gone through for centuries and how they continue to suffer in the 21st century!

Omg this book gives me major cry vibes. I hope Stella doesn’t die! Powerful book about animal captivity. Definitely bring out the humanity in us.

I saw a video today about Lady Gaga talking about mental health with Oprah and it actually helped me realize to take things one step at a time. Today I needed to relax and gather myself. Reading these poems helped bring me back to normal. Poetry saves lives! Good night everyone! :)

This is my first time reading the illustrated edition of Harry Potter. I got to say that the artwork is outstanding and definitely helps pulling me back into the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! To see one of my favorite HP books come to life is truly magical!
