Having a hard time getting into this. Not blaming the narrator.

Couldn’t finish because I hated the main characters and couldn’t stand how they interacted with one another.

I put this book down a fair number of times but not because of any flaw. I end up with audiobooks and it takes away from my time sitting down. Yet, whenever I do read I find it truly beautiful. How often does a person say that about a book?

The shifter stuff in the beginning threw me because it’s not my thing. I thought I somehow had the wrong book. Even once I got past that it was hard to get into. I set it aside for quite some time. Then I went back to it, the shifter stuff is barely a memory, and I’m really enjoying the story.

Wow. There’s one death that happened at this point that made me want to stop. It affected me pretty deeply.
