Nassim Nicholas Taleb may be my new hero. I'm listening to the audiobook version of The Black Swan, and it makes it tough going, the material is a bit dense, it makes me want to read the printed version.

Never start a book like this before going on vacation. I found it interesting, but coming back to it now, I'm lost and may need to go back to square one. There is a certain amount of irony that some of the companies that this book holds up as exemplars of corporate virtue have since fallen from grace (Circuit City, anyone?).

It opens with a Ghostbusters quote, and the audiobook is narrated by Wil Wheaton. And that's just the frosting on the cake. So far it's a love letter to 80's pop culture with a sci-fi twist, but it's clear that the author is just using that for world building.

Some of the exposition was not very smooth, and a little hard to get through, but things improved and started moving shortly afterward, and hasn't let up.

Tough reading so far; hard to identify with the characters, hope it clicks soon.

Enjoying some of the history of telephone, radio, and film. Can see how these were the information industries of their day, and how there are lessons for the growth of the internet, especially net neutrality.

Really enjoying it so far. Amazing details of history that are glossed over in history class.
