basing my knowledge of tartt's characters entirely on goldfinch and 100 pages of secrect history i must say im amused at her choice of portraying characters with dormant agency. i sincerely think it genius to tell stories of boys that sort of just let things happen to them a lot of the times, though it seems a sad circumstance. 10/10
