I do LIKE Murderbot as a character but man this prose ... I dunno, it's occasionally clunky, other times the tenses seem weird to my brain, IDK, mostly I wish this had gotten another editing pass ... no offense I just feel stuff got missed and it's stuttering my read.

On one hand, I'm charmed by Murderbot. On the other, I'm surprised by how the writing occasionally feels like it's trying to be quippy but the quips are excessive & not that good. And the prose isn't as interesting as I thought it'd be (although I love that it doesn't dawdle.) Also given the situation I'd expect more formal characterization for the cast b/c Murderbot is a secret, and yet ... it feels like an error.
