Wow I love a graphic novel's capacity to show human emotion. The way the color palette of a page changes in this book if the LI is on it & the way it's very similar to the palette used to illustrate the protag's daydreaming about romantic moments in her favorite book ... except when she daydreams about the book, it's slightly washed out, and when the LI is on the page, the palette is rich and saturated .... MWAH!

If you wanted to read strictly for relatability--you're an avid reader who squeals in response to fictional romantic moments and may or may not have figured out that you're a member of the rainbow committee, then you may enjoy this gnovel's very apt drawings of the protag basically sliding down the walls in response to other fictional characters getting a littol spoicy (i.e. looking at each other)

Wow. This author really said, yeaaah, I am just gonna straight upmake my protag be a big fan of Twilight-with -a-different-name, and then didn't even hesitate. I'm seeing Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart's pale, pale faces be moodily drawn in the protag's daydream clouds ... wowza

Are ART & Murderbot platonic or romantic? Frankly a useless question I'm not sure if it makes a difference. But regardless of what type of relationship they have, the fact that everyone and their mother is asking MB if its going to stay forever like at the end of the first Mulan movie ... I didn't know I could be so indulged. Is this??????? Emotional fulfillment??? Narrative catharsis????? I'm going insane.

Network Effect is actually just a romance novel about ART and Murderbot, and not only am I right, I'll also never shut up about this. Shout out to the fans who write fanfic of ART & MB fucking, but honestly that would be WAY less devoted and intimate and loving than what they've got going on here.

Points to Ratthi for being the best wingman ever. He really knew ART was too cowardly to score itself a date but uhhhh skill issue, not same for Ratthi. That man dove for his chance to tell Murderbot that ART was going to blow up a planet to get Murderbot back. And ART, fucking clown, tried to laugh it off??? I paused on finishing this book I guess because I found the prospect of ART coming to rescue its wife (Murderbot) so scream-worthy I simply could not proceed. Well. You won't believe what I've been doing. (It's screaming, I've been screaming.) Oh my god I'm having SO much fun. Kicking my feet and giggling. Twirling my nonexistent hair. Screeching because I'm watching the invention of love & devotion!

I love the way bodies are drawn in this book. I love that the genderqueer characters in this book are genderqueer without the artist trying to hide the features of an AFAB body. I like seeing genderqueer be drawn as anything but sexless, careful androgyny. It's about the variety. It's about not needing to look androgynous so other people will accept you're genderqueer. The characters look like people I know & love.

This book is teaching me to write long and varied romance arcs I think and I am loving it

Hitting some kind of evil femme supernova stride .... because you found out your two exes were making out ... thus setting the stage for a very interesting potential trio .... along with unleashing one hell of an outfit change, goddamn ... I love this book lol

This book is so incredibly camp. They really said what if we made a magical girl softball star into a fuckboy & then had her literally fuck people's wives (and take their kids to school after!!!) and get her involved in a "the ex of my ex is my girlfriend" plot of a century. It's very clear that the magical girl picked up a lover who looked like her 1st, she's on a quest to "shag every babe in Europe" ... ai yai yai

Man, I know this book was described as horny, but some kind of innuendo or insinuation nearly every other page + girls (gender-neutral or otherwise) banging before page 50?? Good god

If *I* got a pre-game smooch before every softball game I played, the opposite team would actually be leaving in body bags are you kidding me

and in the background, two girls discuss whether or not it's too soon to move in after the second date ... add to that the general limp-wristed fervor of everyone in the group and yeah, this is what you might call an iconic alphabet mafia book

the protagonist wears a short-sleeved sweatshirt that says "women want me, fish fear me," and a fan of said protagonist wears a shirt that says "it's monsoon season in my pants"
