Throughout the book, there are several times I wish I could’ve talked to the characters. I would tell Auggie that no matter what you look like, you will find people that care about you. I’d say this because he finds out the bad way that he has fake friends, leaving him hopeless.

In wonder, it is not acceptable to judge someone based off of their appearance (Auggie has a condition that affects the growth of facial tissue and has been bullied because of it. It’s acceptable to not adjust to something right away. For example in the first couple chapters, Auggie starts public school for the first time and it is hard for him. He eventually adapts to it by meeting new people and making new friends.

Wonder is a realistic fiction book. I know this because many realistic things and events are in the book one being how Augie is a normal fifth grader starting public school, which is very realistic and normal. Later into the story his dog Daisy dies and things like that happen all the time in real life. It wouldn’t make sense if the book was any other type of genre, so that’s why wonder is a realistic fiction book.

In the book I’m reading, the archetype that is being represented is the forest archetype. I know this because the main character, Augie, goes on a camping trip with his school. The forest represents unusual and possibly dangerous grounds.

A connection I can make in my book is text to world. There is a character in my book named Thomas Cromwell who rises to power serving the chief minister of England. I have heard stories about Thomas Cronwell and how he was an English lawyer who was one of the most powerful proponents of the English renewal.

Wolf Hall takes place in a small city called Wiltshire in the 1500’s. This book is a biography that documents Thomas Cromwells rise to power serving King Henry Vlll. The main character in this book is Thomas Cromwell, the chief advisor of King Henry Vlll and his wife Anne. The inciting incident was when his father beat him up when he was younger and he used that to grow and become a successful man.

This book is plot driven because the events mainly drive the story in a way and based off of the events, Willow is impacted or changed. The big event that really kicked off the rest of the book, was the death of Willow’s parents. When this happened, it changed many characters like Mai and her family because they take Willow in.

While reading the book, I have noticed the type of story my book is would be the quest. I believe this because Razo was asked to join the king’s soldiers on a peacekeeping mission. He uses his unique thinking and squirrel killing skills to help defeat and overcome any obstacles in his way.

In river secrets, Razo has a squirrel killing talent. I feel like the type(s) of fantasy my book would best fit are high fantasy and low fantasy. I believe this because at times it is high fantasy when he is a squirrel killer so that he can put it in his mother’s cook pot. At other times, it is a low fantasy book because it takes place in a normal setting and has a somewhat normal story.

In my book, Salva Dut is a character that is dynamic because throughout the book, he changes as he gets older and when he is put in certain situations. Characters that are static are the tribe that Salva travels with because they were mean to him and left him behind in the beginning of the book and when he found them and they continued to be mean and not changing at all.

In my book, the author isn’t really writing to a certain person but writing to anyone who comes across the book. She writes about her story surviving a massacre and leaving to America. The writer is an adult now and she has many stories to tell about what happened to her.

Sofia is finished with I Know What You Did Last Summer
In my book the main characters is Julie. I would say she is confident, adventurous and curious. Julie is very vulnerable when it comes to the story and everything that happens because she can easily be killed. Her motivation was the 4th of July to become a better person and to try to move on from it.

In my book an event where it showed tension was when Ben Willis was in the Bahamas and stalked them and killed them. When this part happened in my book, Ben had been following Julie and her friends and he murdered them. The tool the author used is unexpected events because they were killed.

In my book, an unsympathetic character is a murderer. The murderer is Ben Willis. He is an unsympathetic character because he murdered David Egan after Ben and David’s daughter Susan was involved in a car crash near where the four teenagers hit Ben Willis.

In my book, the point of view my story is told in is 3rd person omniscient. I know this because on page 2, Julie’s mom said -“you’ve been a completely person and I’ll admit this now, it’s worried me. This shows that the narrator isn’t just focused on the main character and their emotions but other surrounding characters as well.

In my book, the conflict is character vs. character because the main character is Starr and the character that is causing problems is the officer that shot her friend Khalil. That has created a major conflict for Starr in the book.

In my book, the protagonist is Starr because the book is all about her and revolves around her. The antagonist(s) are the police that shot her friend Khalil because he means a lot to her and that becomes a major challenge for her throughout the book. The loss of her friend changes her and everyone around her.

In my book The Hate U Give, the main character is Starr Carter. She is having to pick either her people from Garden heights or Williamson Prep. In the meantime, one of her best friends Khalil gets shot by a police officer after being pulled over. Based off of this event, I can tell that this will be a huge obstacle for Starr to go through.

Sofia is on page 188 of 229 of An Abundance of Katherines
In my narrative An Abundance of Katherines, the author writes in chronological order because the events are in place beginning, middle, and end. There is an event that triggers everything else to happen which is when Colin who’s about to graduate from collage, gets his heart broken by a girl and he gets depressed. Throughout the book, the author uses graphs (like on page 16) to compare the “dumpers” to the “dumpees”.

A minor character in the book The Hate You Give would be Kenya. She is close with Starr and is loving to her. Kenya keeps Starr close to the community and takes her to parties at big D’s house. Kenya is a good influence on Starr and is a dear friend. Starr also feels embarrassed by Garden Heights.

In The Hate You give, there are some archetypal symbols in the book. One of them would be Chris’s Rolls Royce because it symbolizes his privilege racially and financially. In the book, Starr feels that’s their differences will come between them so she hides things about her that may make her seem “ghetto”.

In the book The Hate U Give the author gives off a very modest and honest tone when Starr is at the party in the beginning of the book. I think the author does care about the character and feels that that Starr should be true to herself.

The writer in this book makes me curious about Opal’s mom. I think this because the writer always has Opal talk about her mom and her dad sometimes talk about her. I always feel so curious about who her mom is.
