Harry and the Wrecking Crew, the Wild Geese and Thomas North's Hiberians have been defeated and suffered heavy casualties. The time to regroup and travel back to Rome is on them. This time will things turn out different?

Harry and the Wrecking Crew are in Rome trying to find out where Frank Stone and Giovanna are being kept prisoner.
The Jupiter crash landed in Venice so the first choice for flying the Pope and Frank and Giovanna has gone. An alternative will need to be found.

A quick start the Grantville embassy have rescued the Pope and a party has been diverted to save one of the last surviving Cardinals. The pick up goes wrong and the spanish are on their trail. Not to worry Harry Harry and the wrecking crew are on the way to save the day.

The race with Bako to find the five treasures continues. Balko continues to use his crooked contacts to carry out the work but Sam and Remi have so far won all four rounds. The last treasure remains to be found.

The title refers to the hidden tomb of Attilla the Hun and the masses of treasure buried within. Starting with a riverside dig in Louisiana the action moves swiftly to Hungary and aa megolomaniac who believes he is the descendent of Attilla.

Up to now all the stories have been entertaining, more often than not using characters or types who are familiar to readers of the Horseclan stories. I am however disappoited with 'The Swordsman Smada by John Steakley' find it difficult to follow and not gripping at all. None of the characters are interesting.

A good book with a series of stories set in Robert Adams Horseclans world, each written by a different author/. First four excellent looking forward to the others.

The Keldara have followed the shipment of motherboards fro the South China sea to Hong Kong, to Phuket, to Bangkok and now to Mogak in Myamar. Violence has accompanied the trek along the way.
Mike treatment of Soon Li continues to get worse but she appears to respond to the violence.

Action is constant with the Kildar and crew following the computer mother boards to find out who sold them and who they were intended for.

As always with John Ringo's books the action starts on page 1. Mike Harmon is not a easy guy to like. He believes in direct action and the water boarding of the supposed chinese prostitute can be disturbimng. MH beilieves the end justifies the means.

Harry walks from his coma, rescued from Death by Mab, the Winter Queen, she was not to be deprived of her Winter Knight. As he slowly recovers over a three month period she trains him and tests him daily. Failure to pass the tests would have resulted in his death. He survives an attack from Meave and Mab gives him his first order kill Meave her daughter.

A good read, telling a heatbreaking story of sacrifice and terror. Both sides acted with dignity at times, self sacrifice and also brutality to the other side.
What is truly amazing is the belief of the German soldiers in Hitler even after he had condemned them to death.

A vivid portrayal of the events leading up to and the eventual siege of Stalingrad. Antony Beevor uses both German and Soviet sources to paint a picture as seen by both combatants. It is difficult to believe the conditions which existed and under which both forces fought.

A change of pace for me here. A chance to read some history. Antony Beevor is a good author who writes an entertaining read.

Maureen Jennings continues to deliver. Another excellent story. This time the victim is a local preacher and man of god. gruesomely murder in the chapel. MJ re-introduces Dr ogden, a very different character to the one portrayed on TV>

Half way through the book and a major battle is underway to save Don's family. Carswell Hicks minions v Joe Hunter, no contest.

Typ[ical Matt Hilton action from the word go. Innocent girl dies in prelude, Hunter kills two bad guys in first chapter. keep on rolling.

The quality of the stories continues to be good. Some first time offerings sugest the writer have a good future.

A good selection of short stories. I particularly liked Underbelly by Grant MacKenzie. I can see this as a scene from a Quentin Tarantino movie

Read the first five stories a taste of the style from these authors. A good and varied selection.

The dragons are loose in Meereen. The battle for Winterfell is over, but no discription. Comme on George.

Disappointed the church let Cerise free but her humiliation was almost worth it. Good to see Tyrion plotting again.

The Battle for Winterfell is starting and Deanerys is seeing the error of her wats in Meereen.

Obviously things are not what they seem in the north. Looking forward to the final outcome and moving on to book 2.

The Boltons are freeing the north of the reign of the ironmen. Asha died bravely in the woods. Tyrion has been taken prisoner by Ser Joreth who wishes to take him to Queen Daenerys. The story keeps you gripped.

A good day yesterday made serious progress. A surprise is sprung Prince Rhaegar's Infant son lives.

Find it strange that incidents which featured in A Feast for Crows are referenced here but have not yet happened. How those who read A Feast for Crows, when it was first published, coped I don't know.

A slow start, want to finish the story, but now Christian and Ana are married where is the story going. Christian is still his domineering self.

Have this as two separate books. Glad to catch up with Tyrion, Daenerys and Jon Snow. Looking forward to seeing how there part in the continuing story develops.

I crime solved, or is it. The second gets darker. Now the younger brother is being drawn in to the game or so it seems.
