This book is really trying to be Minnesotan. Most people I know from here/raised here are pop-drinking, can't pronounce bagel Minnesotans,but her mom reads like a caricature. Arndt is a Minnesotan, so for sure there's more authentic ways to weave in our -isms. I just did it twice (maybe even 3x). Uff da and you betcha are best saved for Fargo and rural church blue hairs.

This book is flying by. Maybe I do better with certain authors reading? I prefer others listening. Hmmm.

The level of intensity in this book is comedic. It's like when a toddler is overly serious even about something objectively incorrect - that kind of funny.

Today I am asking "Why aren't there more ski resort romances?" Sure, I don't ski and have never been to a ski resort and my idea of vacation is not exercising at high speeds in the cold...but...the question remains.

I read (sometimes) this while programs run, and it is perfect but slow-going--I might have to change its location so I finish it up.

I don't trust this author, and yet my people™️ (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE) have indirectly influenced me. We're all surprised, but I'm big into second chances.

I've been reading this for a week; I snapped it up when it came out. I find the author's POV interesting: dismantling toxic masculinity may not lie in empowering girls but in empowering boys. There's no "boy's empowerment" I agree-to an extent-that the issues aren't around raising strong girls but redefining strength to boys.

Huh, well, that was an effective way to break my heart in 3 pages.

Some shit-for-brains piled on to the Slate *waves hand* whatever that was by saying both are right: romance is fun! But admit it's bad (terrible prose!). So I obviously started digging through my quotes to relish how wrong he is.

Anyway, got caught up reading Countess Conspiracy quotes and aha, guess what I'm reading this week now. #angstycomfort. Thanks random wrong guy.
