That last section seemed a bit jumbled. Also, I wish there was a "works cited" list somewhere in here, at least to see what things were actually taken from Stanley's and Twain's writings and letters, what was fabricated, and what was a mixture.

I wasn't at all sure about this, but I am strangely enraptured by the writing, even though it's a bit tedious in the pace.

Radio Station KFKD: THIS. SO TRUE.

Stop trying to control what you're thinking while writing. Let any idea that comes to you get written down in the scheme of the story, even if it might not sound plausible now.

Plot Treatments: I know that was supposed to be inspiring, but it only instilled more doubt :/

Dialogue: So good. The 2 best take-away quotes:
"You want to avoid at all costs drawing your characters on those that already exist... You must learn about people from people, not from what you read." Aaaand, that's when you realize that your social anxiety will not allow for this most times.

"You write a shitty first draft...and you sound it out, and you leave in those lines that ting true and take out the rest."

Polaroids: "You couldn't have had any way of knowing what this piece of work would look like when you first started. You just knew that there was something about these people that compelled you and you stayed with that something long enough..."

Characters/Plot: Characters make the plot--plot does not make characters. You can always write about characters (sketches, etc.). The characters will make their own plot.

Short Assignments: Ideas don't have to be fully formed novels--it can just be one snippet character sketch, or setting description. All words count.

Shitty First Drafts: Justification that NaNo is actually a good thing to do.

Perfectionism: So true, but so depressing. What if you're too over-aware to be compassionately aware? What if you never did make messes? What about the self-put-upon perfection from school?

OH MAH GOODNESS. So in a fit of fairy tale classification interest (again), I finally found a site that details (I think) EVERY ATU CATEGORY. With a short summary of the trope involved and lists of tales and variants! This is a treasure trove of amazingness, since most books detailing the AT(U) categories are OOP or way too expensive. I'M SO HAPPY.
