Slow going--lots of interesting historical backstory, but I have a feeling that it could have been pared down.

Also just realized there's no bibliography/notes in here O_O

Although the onomatopoeia are a bit annoying, I'm enjoying the surrealness of this all! The imagery (not from the ballet, I've never seen it) and music (both Tchaikovsky and modern) it brings to mind are excellent. Makes me wish the Rat-King episode of Grimm had been a Christmas episode instead.

At this point, I'm skim reading a lot of this. The chapters in the first section set up very little reliability in the difference between fact and fiction, so anything that seems overly described, I'm taking with lots of salt (even though the references do suggest that a lot of it is just scenes painted from the diaries and accounts of the Akley's).
