Still no Evil Dead vibes. Still not a fan of time jumping. Folk horror is cool. Things are finally getting creepier. Reminding me of the Irish movie You Are Not My Mother.

Look, it's not bad, but 1) I'm still waiting for the Evil Dead reference to make sense, and 2) I absolutely loath how the story is laid out with all the shifts in time. The back and forth. Not a fan of stories like that, especially when there doesn't seem to be any reason for it, like in this case. Maybe one will appear but so far it's just annoying.

Brom's whole thing is a down on their luck MC but it never fails to upset me. I know satisfaction will come by the end but it's still always hard to read it lol

I'm not the biggest fan of this narrator. He's making the story, which isn't bad, a bit of a slog to get through.

This is a YA Lucy Foley book basically lol but actually liking it a bit more than what I've read of her so far.

Woo, got both the print and audiobook galley, looking forward to paired reading Brom's newest - also, he and a friend wrote an actual song for it! Love that he adds art and more to his books, it's so fun.

Fun! A more fantasy Assassin's Creed, actually almost reminds me of Trine... love both and loving this so far!
