I don't think a boy genius would ask Google a question in such a chit-chatty way.

No violence is enough for a Jew. They must all be made to suffer because the Romans killed Christ. Such was the motivation and the justification for nearly two thousand years of evil. Christians made themselves into demons to pay back the Jews for the crimes of pagans. Such twisted logic has never departed and shall continue to destroy whatever humanity remains to us.

Good to be able to read this in Chinese. English Chinese grammars are complete shit. A single line explanation of a grammatical feature in Chinese makes more sense than a chapter from a book in English. Maybe it also helps that I have now read a few thousand pages of Chinese on my own.

First couple were really good, but the middle few have been duds.

Not sure what to make of it yet. Artistic quality, nothing to speak of. Pacing, pretty good. Plot, engaging.

This earth of mankind really is a good concept, reflecting something that I have understood, implicitly and then explicitly, for much of my life. I remember being a white supremacist little 9 year old, and I remember well the intellectual journey from the age of 12 to understand how lacking in foundation it is. Too bad most people get stuck in the first stage, thanks to an education filled with lacunae.

Taking a week break to read my first Chinese Chinese grammar (everything finally makes so much sense! English Chinese grammars are bs). I hope to come back with a vengeance, finish this, race through 鹿鼎记 and then spend the rest of the year on the 4.5-million word 蜀山剑侠传.

Really liked Bolton's style, but the second issue's illustrator wasn't quite to my liking. At least at first, for it did grow on me a bit by the end. The first issue was quite fun in its expansiveness (though the mistakenly written 魔 peeved me), but the second issue seemed very disjointed and I wasn't quite sure what was going on, with the settings and characters changing by the page.

Chapter 31 may just be the most powerful, scathing dialogue I've yet read. The horrors of Stalinism (and the general corruption endemic in Russian society going back many centuries) are too often abused for capitalist talking points, but this was not like that. You can feel the will, not against communism, but of someone who has lived for it and endured the soul destroying results of its utter corruption.

More typos than I expect from any book, but I can get over those. Only other complaint is the abruptness of scene changes: I never really seem able to properly visualize the setting and I remain mostly unsure of the background - place, time, histories, characters, etc - even now as I go into chapter 8. I'm pretty sure it's a fantasy of some sort, with Lazarus drugs and 2nd Reich airship assaults. I am enjoying it.

The first book is now completed. It was very enjoyable to read, but I am mostly looking forward to various events in the next few chapters of Genesis as they have been built upon and expanded from those few pages in The Bible to the 1,500 pages of Mann's work
