Will/must finish it tomorrow. So far, so very good, but not flawless. Some things that bugged me: typos here and there. Also, certain vocabulary not (properly) explained (no glossary!), vocabulary that's related to e.g. other cultures (India, for example, if Google is willing to help). Also, no map. A book like this one MUST have a map.

Must finish this before going to Les Imaginales. Damn you, Stefan, why must you use such difficult wording? :/ It's beautiful, but still...

Really need to catch up. Lost too much time these past few days.

Hard to put down. Sadly, I lost a bit of reading time, due to professional obligations and not having enough energy left in the evening. :/ Still - and yes, reading should be fun, but I set myself a deadline - I hope to finish it in a good ten days (taking "real life obligations" into account), so I have some time left to cool down before going to Les Imaginales in France.

Liking it quite a bit so far. Very well written, the setting and the characters. Building up slowly, though.

As part 5 is over 100 pages and part 6 around 30 pages long, and taking the "very accessible" style into account, I'll put the book aside for a while and start something else, while also trying to finish Dalamar the Dark. The novel, not the character.

4th part done: not that easy, a more religious/spiritual-influenced part, seeking contact with indigenous creatures (pilas), but not every human (esp. kids) want peace. In the end, the launching machine is destroyed, which means all contact with Earth is over: no more food deliveries, no more minerals (or other resources) leaving the planet (Garance). Not an easy one, several unknown words for me, ...

3rd story about rebellious artists against the grain. Or sort of. And they get punished when they cross the line too much. Difficult to get into, to feel some sympathy for the characters. Meanwhile, Lum'en continues to get in touch with the humans. In vain, because of the concrete barrier.

2nd story about a hitman sent out to exterminate the colonisers who decided to apply their own rules of life, cut off from Earth's rules. In the end, the hitman himself is captured, but can flee, despute having undergone "treatment".

Genefort has a different style, compared to other French authors. I found the intro and getting into the story a bit difficult. As I like to visualise in my mind what I'm reading... At this point, now that the first part is done, it's a bit better. About starting a new colony (modern Adam & Eve, I'd say), based on an own scripture and god (Semeur). But with a chip controlling the mind. Until they are teens, rebels.

Slow read, because I first wanted to finish that French book, Destinations. But it feels good to revisit the world of Dragonlance again. I do think it's best to not rush this one, so I might again throw in another Frenchie and shift between the two.

Pt 2, Nations: 3 stories, different theme, all in all also quite worthwhile, imho. For this part: 3.5-4/5. Last part, Destinations: 5 stories. Got it? Destins...Nations...Destinations. Mnémos, or Stéphanie Nicot, I see what you did there. ;-)

First part, Destins (Destinies, 5 stories): Different themes, quite interesting. The language isn't always very accessible (French isn't my mother tongue), sometimes it's like wanting to write stylish for the sake of it. But the majority of these 5 are quite good, in my opinion. Stars so far: 3.5/5. Up next, part 2: Nations, 3 stories.
