The moment William finally talks about his dead sister and he has this image of finally bringing her to life again after his whole family stopped talking about her, thus letting her stay dead, is so heart wrenching. Also watching the progression of someone leaving depression is so bittersweet.

“I want more than that, you know. I want you to feel better. To love your life” ugh rip out my heart!

“No one had ever loved him unconditionally like this, and that love, when he was the most undeserving he’d ever been in his life, made William feel like he was burning up.” 😭😭😭

“And I could not dismiss his words because, after my mother had died, that was exactly what my father had done.” Oh my goddddd CRY

Ugghhh when all he does is touch her ankle and you are absolutely melting at the cuteness of it all!

Geez, female friendships can be so passively cruel. Interesting to feel the tipping of power before the inevitable disaster we all know is coming

Gosh the plot thickens! I keep thinking of this books as a light hearted hack and slash, but the plot keeps building upon itself and taking me off guard

OHHHHHHHHH I WASN’T EXPECTING THAT!

Hadrian I’m in love with you

I love this book! Good and straightforward fantasy. The second story I’m enjoying most—a creature attracted to light comes out at night and terrorizes a small farming town. I’m not sure how it would conclude at this point!

Hahhaha. I will always love two thieves who are amazing at their job and absolute beasts having silly banter between them

Okay book is much more manageable physically as opposed to the audio book 🤣

Wow, it reads like Stephen King but without all of the metaphorical fluff. I’m 30 minutes in and already loving it. Been a minute since I’ve read urban fantasy—this is a series I see everywherrrree in fantasy but knew nothing about

God the audio book author is RUINING this for me lol. I’m gonna have to chip away at the physical book

This is a bit my fault but my attention keeps wandering from the audiobook because it just doesn’t quiiitte grip me. But characters have good chemistry and it’s nice and fun.

Wow this book feels devastating at times. I’m loving it so much. There are a lot of names to keep track of, however. If it wraps up nicely I think I may put it on my favorites shelf!

Okay all of his books drag for me in the middle typically and I started zoning out a bit buuut it was worth it because this dark fantasy is creepy and enjoyable!

King really sexualizes his female characters—even the sexual innuendo with the “disgusting” female monsters goes pretty hard lol

Gosh I forget HOW GOOD Stephen King is at writing.
