just cannot finish

I don't understand all the negativity about this book in the reviews I'm reading. With that said, I'm stuck. I HAVE to keep reading &/or listening to the Fever series to see how it goes, how it ends. But it's not one to remain on my keeper shelf. The Highlander series, however, will always remain a favorite. The Keltar's are keepers.

book 1: Return of the Rose. what a pageturner. and nice to read a time travel where the heroine isn't accused of witchcraft right off the bat. book 2:
