Whenever I'm writing a lot, my reading tends to fall by the wayside — sadly. Fortunately, I've completed rough drafts of three short stories in two days. Super proud of the new material. :)

This is a quick little read. I'm enjoying it — as much as one can enjoy such a weighty topic as mental illness, anyway.

What's a good post-80s Dean Koontz novel?

The hyper-sexuality in this one is almost too much to bear. I got it, Newman. Teenage boys haz tha dumbs and only think with their dicks. Cool.

King is one of those authors whose body of work divides his fans — some folks proclaim The Stand to be his best work, others say that honor falls to It. Every Constant Reader has a different opinion on what SK's best novel is, or what his or her favorite is. Needful Things is mine. Damn, I love this book.

Very sick today. Thankful for Lestat de Lioncourt keeping me company.

I've put my finger on the problem with this collection: it feels like Stephen King trying too hard to be King. He's playing to the crowd and ripping himself off; these novellas cannibalize what worked in his earlier stuff, with diminishing results.

Regardless, on to "The Sun Dog"....

This one is giving me all the nostalgic feels for childhood. Thank God this isn't a stand-alone; I don't want to leave this world any time soon!

Finally finished with "The Library Policeman" and would give it a low 3 stars.

Dammit, this book is hitting me where I live.
