Joe R. Lansdale's "The Projectionist" is another favorite. Atmospheric, bittersweet, chilly. I loved it.

I might be biased, but Stephen King's "The Music Room" is my favorite thus far. It reads like something straight out of Night Shift.

I LOVED Craig Ferguson's "Taking Care of Business". :) If that story were expanded to novel-length, I'd gladly buy it.

Jeffrey Deaver's "The Incident of 10 November" lost me.

"Rooms by the Sea", like "Soir Bleu", is a bit tricky and didn't become clear so easily. I liked it, though. And I loved "Nighthawks".

Don't get me wrong; I love folks reading my posts, but it sort of peeves me to suddenly get a lot of 'like' notifications on a years-old review. I'm a self-conscious person, and I don't like my old stuff showing up in news feeds. I feel my writing improves with each review. (And my opinions are always changing, too!)

Is this petty? Mean? I'm not trying to be rude. Promise. :(

Not terribly impressed with Lee Child's "The Truth About What Happened". It just doesn't really go anywhere.

"Soir Bleu" is a story that doesn't give up its secrets easily; I appreciate that, and I enjoyed the story.

"The Story of Caroline" gave me all the feels.

Had a lot of fun with Megan Abbott's "Girlie Show", a quick and surprisingly weighty read about a woman sticking up for herself. Liked it a lot. :)

Fredrik Backman's novels are like novelized Pixar films in the best kind of way.

I don't want this book to end. :(

I should finish this one today. :)

Starting part three. Things are getting tense.

This book is, so far, totally devoid of the cheeseball dialogue and characters that often populate Koontz stories. :)

And still no Golden Retrievers...

This has its nasty little claws in me. :) And no mention of Golden Retrievers (yet). Woohoo!

I've loved Koontz's last few novels so I'm looking forward to getting into this one!
