Re-read because this book makes me happy, and I need happy.

Moving along slowly because I'm bouncing between two different method books, and a book of solos, and stuff I find on the internet.

Moving on to stuff in G-major. "Austrian Hymn."

When I skipped ahead and tried this piece, "Andante," a few weeks ago, it was super hard. Now, it's pretty easy. So...progress. OTOH, the left hand fingers combos in "Senorita" on the previous page are still troublesome.

I really like this, but...I think it would be confusing as fuck if I hadn't already watched the Netflix adaptation. The TV series is somewhat different in respect to world building and backstory, but having the characters and basic plotline already established helps make the novel more understandable.

Every character in this story is either obnoxious (the protagonist), or over the top contrived.

This is not my usual thing in fantasy, but so far, I like it.

Saw this on sale, cheap, and was all, "Please, take my money."

Sight read quickly through Lesson 64, but Lesson 65 has twist left hand finger combinations.

There are a few videos of people playing the solo on this page, "Senorita," which are helpful for playing more musically. Especially for someone who is teaching themselves to play guitar.

Ugh! The protagonist is abrasive like cheap toilet paper. I'm bored, annoyed and just skimming. This could be a DNF.

The plink-plink-plink is strong with lesson 61. I know it's good for left and right hand development, but...Zzzzzzz.

Skipped ahead to this page because I like the Italian Aire and Classic Dance. The good thing about being self-taught is I can do [play] whatever I want. :D

Because it was on sale super cheap, and I'm curious what all the bad reviews are about. Basically, I'm a masochist.

Working on pieces on this page, but also continuing with awkward stretches on page 32. Practice, practice, practice.

Sagreras is big on "apoyando" with the a-finger. Apparently, among guitarists, this is out of fashion, but I'm sticking with the lessons as written because playing this way is more challenging than a "tirando" stroke.

Ugh! So up until a few pages ago, I was totally enjoying this book. Putting aside the hero, Merik, who is absolutely VILE, this was fast-paced fun. And then we get the fated, insta-luv bullshit between Merik and Safi, all while he is literally physically assaulting her and "punishing" her. Shades of Highlander's Jamie, except Jamie is likeable and Merik should be fed to the sea foxes, one limb at a time. UGH!!

The aptly named "Rain Drops" is plinky and fun.
