Still kinda waiting for an actual reason why only the Town's name is that of a person. Because, I mean... What? Glass? Hibiscus? Aloe? Am I missing some very obvious metaphor? Are they all part of Lucille's "psyche"?
Also, kinda feeling icky about a few things.

So this is really just about American men unable to express their feelings. How... Interesting. Wow.

Dunno what to make of it quite yet. I've gotten through two stories, and in both cases I felt like somebody was constantly whispering "muuuricah" into my ear.
The only perspective so far is that of men, who live in cabins and are friends with other men, also living in cabins. Women are either annoying ex-wives or somebody to sleep with. Which is... Kinda frustrating.

Damn, time flies when you're reading a really, really good book.

Putting this on my "not-gonna-finish"-list.
I'm really not patient enough for all those weirdly horny teenagers without actual feelings.

Ich bin wahrscheinlich echt das falsche Publikum für Endzeitszenarien. Hab ich schon öfters gemerkt. Aber jau, Überleben, nur um zu Überleben macht in meinen Augen vergleichsweise wenig Sinn.

Plus finde ich den Stil... Najah.

Ich würds echt gerne besser finden, gerade weil ich die Sachen von Brian K. Vaughn in der Regel mag. Aber holy moly. So viel Patriotismus schlägt mir auf den Magen.

Maybe that's the goal of the story, but holy fuck. I can only stand so much religious mumbo-jumbo.

Pretty hit-and-miss so far for me.
I really do not care about digital pets, nor about scientists that feel the need to excessively praise the glory of God in every second sentence.

Everything is an abstract mess of weirdness that's hard to understand.
But the more you read, the less that matters.
There's a tipping point at which you just kinda accept that and are able to follow the story.
It does kinda take seventy pages tho.

I'm so fucking conflicted about how to rate this book. Why the hell does it end the way it does?! I hate it! I think. But I mean, even the first book endet somewhat smoothly. I do not need shenanigans like this in my life.
Also FUCK Brade.
I've never been so mad at a character since Moash. And while yes, do fuck Moash... FUCK Brade.

I know what this is.
It's Neverwhere, if it was fucked up and set in London-Above.
I love it.

Yet another book about magic in London. But I don't really mind. There's frankly too much chaos happening all at once, to mind.
The only reassuring aspect is, that Billy is about two steps behind the reader, who kinda expected everything to fall apart beforehand.

But damn. A human radio? Talking tattoos? How do you come up with stuff like that?

I have not touched this book for several weeks. In the matter of one and a half days, I've read almost 200 pages.
My love for Vicious has been reignited.

No. A woman's obligation is NOT to wait patiently for her husband to fucking return from traveling. Yes I know, different cultures and all that.
