Sooo, I've read a few reviews that mentioned how slow this is, but I listened to 70% of the audiobook today just while adulting (driving around, walking the dog and cooking dinner). I am really, really enjoying it and it's flying by for me! I agree, there's not a lot going on plot-wise, but the character development and the unconventional narrative style have me hooked!!! I'll def be finishing tomorrow!

A great way to kick off January.
I don't tend to read Mysteries with the intent to solve them, so this should be a fun change of pace!

This is so fun!
I'm such a freaking sucker for an unreliable narrator!

I'm laughing out loud, I'm intrigued, slightly grossed out at times...this is fun!!

Oooo, yeah, had to skim over that bluebird section.
No, thank you. It hasn't diminished my enjoyment, I just new that part wouldn't be for me. It was really only a page and a half though and easy to see where it stopped and started. I appreciate that McMahon didn't drag it out. She made the point, made the connection to the current happenings and moved on.

This has been a strong collection.
I'm loving the blend of SFF & Horror.

There has to be a Helen, right?
Because ut seems to obvious that there wouldn't be...

McMahon knows how to set such an ominous tone.
I'm scared and I'm not even sure what to be scared of yet! LOL

I've finally returned to this one.
I put it down for a bit, not bc I wasn't enjoying it, but I was just too busy at the holidays.
Shusterman makes it so easy to follow this complex story. It was easy to jump right back in!

Hawkins knows how to create the drama and intrigue.
I'm loving the set-up.

Totally intrigued by the start of this.
The first little section, set 27-years in the past, was unsettling to say the least!

Yeahhhhh, I couldn't wait to start this. And, it kicks off in the first week of January. How fitting!

I've really enjoyed my time reading this today!

I love how this kicked off.
So quickly -- we're already into the heart of the story described in the synopsis. We love jumping right into it!!

I'm really enjoying this.
A great Police Procedural.
I love this type of story, so am pretty amped to have a new Police Procedural series to follow. I am hoping to get to the first book this month!
