The reader is more tolerable when I set the speed at 1.5X, but I’m still not a fan.

I read Caraval in 2017, and I don’t really remember anything about it except that I liked it. That’s a bit of a problem now, as Legendary relies upon that prior knowledge to build the story. It’s because of this, and that I’m listening to the audiobook and really don’t like the reader, that I’m having a hard time getting into the story.

I tried listening to the audiobook because that’s what my library had, but I just can’t do it. Romance novels just don’t work for me in that format. So, I now have the ebook and can get reading.

I got to chapter 4, which begins with “Stupid, stupid, stupid!”, and I couldn’t agree more. I’m just not interested in finishing this series right now, so I’m putting it back on the tbr shelf.

I’m listening to the audiobook, and it’s good. Now if only the app would stop crashing every 5 minutes (or less)...

These books really need a thorough going over by a competent editor.

As per usual with Berry’s writing, if I were a person who highlighted books, almost the entire thing would be highlighted so far.
