This book and this series kept me enthralled...no bread needed. Constant and unexpected twists. Well-written characters. Intricately woven detail tying all four works in the series together into one glorious masterpiece. I truly hope there are future titles in this universe, though this arc is clearly well concluded.
The Confectioner’s Truth is the third and final book in The Confectioner Chronicles by Claire Luana. I was both excited and sad to get my hands on this book- excited to continue the adventure, but then quite sad that this incredible journey has come to an end. I can honestly say that this series is one of my favourite discoveries of the year! Ms Luana has such a fantastic imagination- and her stories reflect her masterful storytelling abilities and superb creativity. This book/series is a ...more
Is this a joke? That was the stupidest thing I have ever. Hale literally betrays everyone. Kills an innocent man (Virgil) and nobody cares? I'm curious why he couldn't stab the creeps throat in even when he didn't kill Wren. Why wait? Since apparently most of the soldiers weren't even going to fight them. All he did was cut off Pike's arm to "be a hero" when he could have just killed the guy. He loved Wren and wanted her to be safe yet he turned her over in a heartbeat. The ...more

What a great end to the series. Claire Luana finally managed to shake off the juvenile tone of the previous books and present a fantastic ending to the series. This book was everything it needed to be!
I actually enjoyed some of the new characters in this book, despite them being introduced so late in the series. I also really enjoyed the LBGT romance - it was a great addition to the bo ...more

It seems like nothing will be right again. Wren has fought to be where she is today, but where has it brought her? Betrayed by a good friend. While another lays dead from something Wren encouraged. And the man she loves -- gone from her and she doesn't know where -- or if he's even alive. She can't do this anymore. But the new king may just ...more

The story The Confectioner's Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana is a thrilling/fantasy/romance book. It is the final story in the Confectioner’s Chronicles and is one that I loved reading. It is a page-turning book that had me wondering what was going to happen next, who was going to be victorious, and would all the characters survive? There is action, adventure, and danger. This book is action packed, fast paced, and heart pounding. Long after I had finished this book, I was still feeling the affects of the twists and turns this story took. Wren is back at it with her friends, companions and allies. Two weeks after the events from the last book (which if you have not read, you should stop everything that you are doing and go read Book 1 and Book 2) Wren and her group ar ...more

I can not believe this series is over :( This story had me a hot mess and started right in on page 1 and never let go till the end and then it stayed with me for a bit after.
There was a lot going on in this story, we met a lot of new people and visited many new places..I loved this part and I felt as if I was right there with Wren as she was making quick decisions and having a lot of inner battles... ...more
The final book in The Confectioner Chronicles, we are taking to the secrets that Wren hides, and ones we finally get to learn the full truth about. Picking up almost where the last book leaves off, there is no stopping this epic fantasy. As the danger lurks closer, the suspense thickened, I was on the edge of my seat for most, I at times even forgot to breathe! This book, was ...more

The Confectioner’s Truth is the third and final book this series. Please don’t start with book three I wouldn’t recommend them read a standalone. We have the pleasure of meeting some new characters in this book, each one I feel enhances the storyline. Wren went through some time in self-doubt and tries to learn from mistakes she has made. Will she be able to learn and not make the same mistakes again? The only thing I did ...more

As I likely mentioned in my reviews of the first two books in this trilogy, this series is meant to be read in sequential order. Each book ties in well with the storyline of the book before it, picking up where we left off.
I really enjoyed this series as a whole, I don’t read this genre too often but every now and then a book will catch my eye. The Confectioner’s Chronicles truly surpassed my expectations, I enjo ...more
The entire series was a well written fantasy that had many twists and turns and battles (internal and external). It has a lot of characters to keep track of, but each is pretty well defined in their role. This is one of those series that has it all... Mystery/suspense, fantasy, magic, adventure and action. I was so excited to read the final book in this series and what a conclusion it was! This is by far my favourite series from this author – I have loved every single word that I have read, with every turn of the page I got deeper and deeper into this exciting world that Ms Luana had created. This is the third book in the Confectioners Chronicles Series and they just keep getting better and better. With mystery, suspense and a little romance this book is sure to rock your socks off.
