What a mess of a party

The scene wherein the master poisoner cases the bank, marking every failed opportunity of assassination, was grand.

I'm confident this is my favourite. It is a far more personal story and it has the length to be. A man has sold his soul to the devil - returns to family from trip - life afterward - fear - culminating horror. A challenging, ambiguous end.

'Relative damnation - A very short novel'

A piece that tries a little hard to impart a sense of disillusionment.

'Vampire Dogs (or What Came Out)

Very stream-of-consciousness. Not great.

'The Man from Providence'

Another good story! Very surreal, setting where people are born with the events of their lives tattooed on them, a man wakes to find his changed.

'The Story of the Faceless Man'

A story in keeping with the classics! And spun from so small and opaque a thread too - "migration of lemmings - Atlantis". It reminded me of Gyo by Junji Ito, and the accompanying illustration was fantastic

'Notes on Lemmings'

A contemporary story, a middling sorcerer abusing power to get a girl, an ending that isn't quite obvious.

'The Corpse Who Moves About'

Another story not worth reading

'Meaning You are Beautiful or You are Wonderful'

Another good story! The ending was weak with explaining, but the writer visiting an old lighthouse out of time was classic enough.

'Vacancy at the Fenrick Inn'

A series of impressions more than a story. Unremarkable.

'Dissipation?'

A good story! The front portion concerning a transcript of an astronaut who seems to be experiencing a spacial anomaly was very enjoyable, though the end discussion about the transcript was less exciting.

The longest of the stories so far, but regrettably very average.

'Levittown (36. Disintegration)'

Hah! Not quite a twist ending but it paints the rest of the story a little differently for knowing it. I'm sure it's a pairing of worlds that has been explored before, but not one I'd considered. Interesting.

'The Impossible'

Short in form and of substance, but curiously well written. I wish it went somewhere. Glass eyes indeed.

'Tea and Pie, Don't Pass Me By'

A very enjoyable vignette. The stream of consciousness style of the writing is both fitting in form and pleasing in execution, and there are one or two moments of brilliance in the narrative - "These are not their doors".
