Okay, so this book has been haunting me. I DNF'd it earlier this year, strongly disappointed in it. I must have been drunk, because I decided to give it another try today and OHMYGOD it hit me with a wave of joy, it's everything I love in fantasy, and that prologue I once found ponderous had me on the edge of me...well...bed because I'm lazy and still in it at 14:46 reading books.
