When I first read this book, I hated it for reasons I can't fathom right now. I absolutely love this book the second time around, and to read about history from a protagonist who is also from another point in history is fascinating, and it rings true. No whitewashing of history here, it's got grit and brawn, as well as depth and beauty.

Dragonlance is special. There are moments of fun, contrasted hauntingly with excellent writing detailing the horrors of war. A truly beautiful world and although I see how these books have aged, in my opinion, they have aged only well.
