Michael Smith is 25% done with Crime and Punishment
This book feels like a new novel each and every chapter. That's not a negative, as it's rich, powerful writing and flawless grasp on characterisation elevates this work above pretty much anything I have ever read. I have 75% left? My god, that's great news!

No it's not a classic for the ages. However, it's another enjoyable Shannara book, and that's enough for me!

6% of this book is still a fair amount of reading. This is HUGE! Loving every moment.

This is my fourth book in this world of Mithgar. I have to say, Dennis L McKeirnan is working his magic for me, I predict he will become a major favourite author soon. Plenty still to read, but I love his style.

I absolutely loved The Iron Tower trilogy. I'm actually finding the Tolkienisms more distracting here, but I'm also reading it knowing it was originally meant to be a sequel to The Lord Of The Rings. It definitely carries that mythic tone, but I have to say, a part of loves the whimsical world of Mithgar more than Middle Earth. This was McKiernan's first written work, and it shows.

I see a lot of hate for this series. My second go reading it and I still find it utterly enchanting.

A reread. I like this book, it's got that glow of a comfort read, which I need right now.

Although a lot less complex, and shorter, I see a lot of elements in this series that were done with more depth and detail in Robert Jordan's Wheel Of Time series. I grew up on David Eddings, and at 32, having not read this work since I was around 15, I find myself as in love with it as always.

Well as a very big Cassandra Clare fan, this is shaping up to be my favourite of her series yet.
