Michael Smith is 53% done with The Burning Stone (Crown of Stars, #3)

I was optimistic I would love this book, in spite of many very loud negative reviews. This is dense, politically charged fantasy low on magic, high on intrigue, tension and mystery. I just love it. In many ways, it takes what made Wheel Of Time so good, and does it a little better. Potentially my favourite installment yet.
