I wish I had more time to focus on this excellent and strange novel. Such a weird mix of the totally mundane with spurts of insanity

Very creative setting in Airwalkers, I'd love to read more about this world. Surfers at the End of Time was also great zany fun, if a little over-extended. Christmas Truce also decent, if muted.

Good solid story by Garth Nix. Gotta read more of him too.

Outside Heavenly. A solid and entertaining, and creepy, 3.75 story. Don't think I've read anything by Rio Youers, so that's cool too.l

This close to the end, I'm surprised and please to say that it never got boring. I'd expected at least a handful of long expository detail into bills with lists of names involved, but it was all done so cleanly and efficiently, that it never got boring. A very well written and detailed piece.

The Voice - another okay story. I've read similar premises and nothing new or really surprising about the writing or characters.

The Spinrad book review covers interesting books that I want to read, but was terrible. Evidently, all Norman can compare chinese writers too is Lenny Bruce - - ?

Winter Children - just okay. Decent premise but not enough there for me. Barely a 3.

Once I let go of my presumption that this would be earthshattering, I'm enjoying it more

Cooling considerably. I'm still not sure I know how to read poetry right. Feels like anytime I focus on any one poet, the shine starts to fade as I read. I've tried spacing them all out over different poets in the past, but that at the expense of cohesion... or, the last several poems in Caiplie Caves have been overly analytical and journalistic.

Solid first story by Ballingrud - Atlas of Hell. Cool, but not amazing premise, but the writing is just so fluid and good he makes it work. 3.5 stars.

Both the intro by Eggars and the first two 'chapters' have me staggeringly underwhelmed. Hopefully that changes.

My favorite parts are the moments Obama lets us in to his personal life or personal thoughts. But the details on policy are also very well told, to the point where what I expected to be boring is actually interesting and informative. I do wish he'd take a moment or two to align some of what happened in the past, with what has happened since. But he keeps to a strict chronology.

Way more sex than I was expecting.
Some very solid non-erotic sex writing as well.

This is the novel version of that Escher painting with the hand drawing the drawing of itself...

Had to read the first chapter twice, but I'm digging the unusual style and evocative writing.

The last ride of the glory girls is a solid weird western. A ton of fun. Really liked it.

Ronni and Rod: solid story with a good premise and characters but very much 'a day in the life of' which makes sense considering it's pulled from a novel.

Reclaiming the Stars is the truly idiotic end to one of the stupidest story cycles I've ever read.
