It's the fact that Aunt Pearl can't listen to reason that does me in. The thing is, I have family members like that, so while I would like Cendrine to stand up for herself, I know how hard it is and how sometimes, especially with older family members, you're tempted to give in to avoid the conflict.

I'm enjoying this book so much, and I just wish my biology prof. would have made genetics sound this interesting in HS, I probably would have loved genetics.
