“he does the right thing when it’s easy” exactly! he gives up so easily on doing the right thing if it’s hard for even a second. his mom didn’t even have to argue with him. he gave into what she wanted damn near immediately. i don’t believe he’s ever done the right thing because he believes it. i think he only did it because it was easier to go along with what zélie and amari wanted than fight them.

inan is just so fucking weak. i can’t stand him. he literally stands for nothing. he is what happens when someone is too afraid to stand up to racism and hate. stand on your fucking beliefs but he doesn’t have any. he doesn’t believe in anything. he says that he does but it’s not true.

reading racism is hard. it being fantasy racism doesn’t make it any easier.

at what point do they have to think “damn, this is stupid?” like you gained the exact same power as them at the exact same time as them but you still hate them. it’s even stupider when you realize that they killed any actual perpetrators of the crimes committed against them years ago. you’re fighting the children of your victims and blaming them for your hate.

i just know zélie has to be the finest girl in the whole world. the way almost every person that sees her falls in love immediately or at the very least comments on her beauty is proof of that.
