This book finally takes the story forward. But I wish the waffling about would have ended before I read to this point. It is sheer persistence that got me here.

The story has finally caught my attention. On page 416. If I ever write a book, must make sure never to dangle the carrot of suspense without making sure it looks like a carrot in the first place!

At least the first installment was fast-paced. This one is like treacle.

Awkward teenage romance packaged up in a dystopian setting.

So mysterious without any actual substance. Clearly building up to a scene of some sort of corruption. And why are heroines so clueless when boys like them?

I suppose humour is a personal preference, but I fail to find the incredibly mild jokes the slightest bit funny, in the face of the sociopathic and psychopathic behaviour of some of the characters. There appears to be very little humanity, and that's awful.

Still ploughing through this incredibly tedious retelling of the amazing Harry Potter universe.

Slowly wading through.

Taking my time after a long hiatus. Many paragraphs in this book resonate deeply, and echo the philosophies with which I conduct my life.
