Fascinating story, with light and interesting characters. Particularly enjoyed the bits in India, and tried to guess the names of places.

Must faster reading than I anticipated. Perhaps it is the relaxed environment. And the lack of deadlines.

Slightly annoyed that the edition I am reading isn't on Goodreads, so my percentage read will be inaccurate. 😒

After reading something as heavy as American Gods, I needed a dose of my favourite palate cleanser. As usual, Wodehouse doesn't disappoint!

Haven't had time to read lately. And also, after reading the encounter with Bilquis, a little freaked out. ;-)

A difficult book to read, not only because of the subject but also the translation. The translation feels dry and lifeless, whereas if I translate the words into Hindi in my head, I can see the poetry in the descriptions. Terribly sad to see writing so denuded of meaning.

Feel a bit like all Strike's suspects are red herrings. 😑

The jar of clove hair gel is more fully fledged as a character than the actual people. About a 100 pages left, and no scent of a plot just yet.

Picked it up again after a break.

Gripping read, and I still have no clue who the murderer is. I would have placed a bet on the editor about 100 pages ago, but not so sure anymore.

What is quite amusing (and ingenious) is that while this is definitely a sequel, and it would help to understand the principal protagonists, reading the books in order isn't strictly necessary. No spoilers about Lula Landry's killer AT ALL. 🙈
