i wish i'd read this when it was first published, i'm really not the target audience anymore :/

There was a disconnect somewhere between my excitement when this series was announced and the fact that I didn't pick it up for the first 2 years it was out. But here I am now and I have so missed these mythology fusion stories.

In love.

Nobody could make this story work as well as Sarah Dessen does. And might I add listening to "How you get the girl" and reading this = the perfect combination.

previous update - page 56. Sarah is an expert at changing the tone of a novel in a single sentence. With a few words, my understanding of Louna is so much deeper. And I must say, I was not expecting that plot twist.

Sarah lives in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and at the time of the shooting there that made international headlines was presumably writing this book. It's quite interesting to see how much of the raw emotion I saw on her twitter feed in the days following is intact through Louna in this fictional world.

There's no Sarah Dessen book that I haven't loved (or at the very least, really liked) but the premise of this book has already given it such a boost in terms of my expectations. Imo, it would be difficult for a romance/ coming age of novel to disappoint when its set in the world of weddings.

This plot point happening so early in the book makes me really nervous about what's to come...

" 'You can't learn with lipstick? You can't read with contacts?' " I love love love Dimple's mom.

Rishi Patel is all kinds of charming.

I'm so content to be reading this series again.

GAHHHH. Reading this series always make me feel like I'm returning to my literary home. I've really missed these characters. I nearly squealed when Romeo + Juliet was mentioned, it's one of my favourite movies.

I really dislike this so far. Which is a shame since this is the farthest I've gotten in a book in a few months.
