This author continues to surprise me.

What would officially be book four is now done. This section ended with a lot more battle description than the others. I liked the way characters were developed, but the multi chapter detailed battle scenes were not as interesting as the interludes where the characters interacted and revelations happened. Well, on to book five (which is the middle section of this compilation).

A ton of new characters have been introduced. I imagine the author has to replace ones that have been killed off and create new ones to kill off.

I wound up with a chunk of time to read today, and I am glad I did. I never seem to tire of this author.

This story just keeps getting better and better.

I was wrong. The best parts of the story are between the Lady and Croaker. This is my new favorite fantasy author.

The storyline finally focuses more on Black Company now. I realize why the author needed the new characters, but when it focuses on Croaker, Goblin, and One Eye is when it is the best.

This was a tough start. A bunch of new characters were introduced and the plot fast forwarded many years. It is picking up speed, though.

It just keeps getting better and better.

My favorite series this year. This author really knows how to create characters.

I already bought the next two books in the series on my Kindle.

This was slow going at first. I am starting to get into it now that I am keeping track of all of the names.

It's off to a decent start. I have heard so much about this series, I wanted to read for myself.

My new favorite sci fi series that is not The Foundation trilogy.

This is off to a great start.

I am listening to this on audiobook and home I run. I have a paper copy, and am tempted to speed it up, but I spent the money on there audio version so I feel like I have to get my money’s worth and listen. It’s good.

I am going with the audio version again.

I like the quick dialogue and short chapters.

Audiobook version. I’ve recently started getting into these.

What can I say. I am starting to get into the Star Wars mythos.
