I was wrong. The best parts of the story are between the Lady and Croaker. This is my new favorite fantasy author.

The storyline finally focuses more on Black Company now. I realize why the author needed the new characters, but when it focuses on Croaker, Goblin, and One Eye is when it is the best.

This was a tough start. A bunch of new characters were introduced and the plot fast forwarded many years. It is picking up speed, though.
