The Enough Pretending section is tremendous. It is relatable in so many ways and also unique. I appreciate the "look behind the curtain" and the chance to gain insight from @glutenfreegirl experience.

I feel like @glutenfreegirl is an old friend because I have been reading and following her online for years. Getting to read these pages feels like coming home. I only started the book yesterday afternoon and already need to remind myself to slow down, so I can fully absorb the words.

Escape from New York was an odd story.

Miss Adele Amidst the Corsets was haunting and moving

After seeing the incredible musical this summer, I am getting around to reading the book. It will be slow moving, but hopefully I can finish before 2020.

My favorite story so far is Downtown.

I like that the main characters of both the short stories I read.

The description of patient and doctor interactions is beautiful.

I started reading at the airport and was immediately hooked. This was a good travel companion during flight delays. The hard part is that I cried a few times and that is tough in public.

My heart was racing when he was in Yemen and I was also excited to learn. Plus, I really appreciated the airport scene particularly this line: We do not want stickers, we want dignity!

Glad be back to this story and reading about the first trip to Yemen is making my heart race. It's also interesting to learn about the Q test.

It ended at the point where I wanted more information. Some of the resources are interesting, but most are self-promoting.

Interesting and informative, so far

The section on sandy hook elementary school shootings and kids being killed by guns made me cry. It is so moving. Also, I am sad to be coming to the end of the story.

Read this section where Obama won the 2008 election and cried (again) after experiencing election night from Michelle's point of view.

Loved hearing about her experience as a parent to two small children and working out job stuff with parenting and partnership. Also, her experience with Barack Obama speaking at the DNC convention in 2004 and then winning his senate seat. Her description of what it means to be Mrs. Obama is so insightful.

Totally taken with the story. I got to the part where she met her husband and it reads like a romance with a strong feminist lead.

I am completely engrossed-- both the personal story is compelling and the historical context is important.
