So thrilled to see this book out - I’ve been following the channel for a while now.

This is way too close to home right now.

Book was a gift. It's a great fit for her youtube fans, though I am not one of them. The short chapters make it a quickish read and she highlights some interesting places/landmarks.

It's one of those books w/a feminist slant that actually bugs me bc I just want steps on how to deal w/burnout, & getting raged up about the oppression of women does NOT HELP MY BURNOUT.

I have feminist beliefs, but I'm trying to calm the fuck down. Help me calm the fuck down. It doesn't help me DO that if I crack a crown & have to deal with my chauvinist dick dentist.

Books w/a root in feminism or a history of inequality of women give me tension headaches like a building collapsing.
I feel men's complaint that feminists are man haters bc yeah, reading this & living in the world, sometimes we do hate them. It's like guys hate dudes who drive X brand truck bc so many are dicks. Except in this case, those dicks also harass, rape, abuse, and murder us. So you kinda get it, right?

I'm learning all about slashers and it's kind of a little ...sort of... fun?
And then along comes a moment of heartbreak and it happened in a "wait, what? ... what the f@#$ is happening...?" kind of way that such a moment WOULD. Ughhhh tears.

OH my god, Cara Gee narrates this. If you watched The Expanse, she is Carina Drummer, who is a ####ing BADASS. I don't care anything about this book, I will listen to it just to hear her narrate it.

No the book is good so far, though gory slash fiction is maybe not what I'm ready for.
