I hateeee that Irina’s there. The jealousy plot clearly keeps me hooked but I’m in pain!!!

I’m scared this will end as a cliffhanger.

Also… picking up vibes that Acker is going to betray Jovie. And/or end up evil. I’m scared.

I’m deeply invested in this now but why is everything over explained. Let me read between the lines. It’s not fun.

Ch 23 - I’ve done a total 180 on this book. I am loving it, I don’t want to stop reading (and go to work).

I think the romance is great. The writing is not. But I’m enjoying the journey and the yearning now 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

Ch 17 - YAY WE’RE GETTING ANSWERS!!!

Not sure why this couldn’t have been shown to us chronologically (and not told, retrospectively). The narrative style is…. Certainly a choice :)

Ch 15 - okayyyy that was AWESOME.

My issue is still with the writing style. Why are we being explained easy subtext regarding emotions/decisions (stupid lines like ‘he didn’t kill him for me, which is hard for him, since he was almost killed just before”) but not the actual world.

We only JUST found out that Alaha people are light complexions vs Kentra are dark. Why wasn’t that discussed earlier???

Ch 12 - Okayyyy I think I’m starting to enjoy this (for the romance). I finally got a SLITHER of answers

Noooo I didn’t realise this would have a famous celeb as one of the MC’s jobs. Argh

Thank god for Spotify audiobooks…that saved me $26 for the Audible copy

Ch 10 - ooh that was another good chapter. I’m still confused on who anyone is or how this world works though and that PMO 🙃

So… they’re not pirates. They’re some sort of navy/military.

Why didn’t we get a proper chapter on who governs this place, how the two groups (Kenta and Alaha) work, how society is structured, if they have any religious practices… it’s irking me so much for a fantasy

Ch 9 - that was the most exciting chapter yet (and it was moderate).

I don’t even know how they got in their situation in the cells. I feel like this book is skipping so much important storytelling OR I’m getting short term amnesia whenever I open this book up.

Graduation??? What?! I’ve read six chapters and still have no idea about the setting.

I think I’m hating this 😭

There is no conflict. There is no tension. THIS IS BORING.

Ch 5 - This still feels like I’ve opened the book halfway through. Hate that. Who are you people??? Who are the Kentas? Is it a country? A government? A language group? GIVE ME CONTEXT. GIVE ME WORLD BUILDING. WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE?

This is cute but the MMC voice sounds so much like a middle age dad. It keeps distracting me
