Ah, I was wondering how long it would be before we got to THAT pair of sentences. Namely the ones where u can tell who the author means to be ~regressive~ and who is ~progressive~. It felt like a poke in the middle of a dream.
Otherwise, I have always loved the lavish descriptions in this series. They have notably influenced my own writing.

Laia seems to just be getting annoying. She's reminded me about 20 times in the same chapter how unfair it is that the scholars are treated like this and like that... as well as in nearly every other chapter. Shut it, sabaa, just tell your damn story.
