I like that this takes place in the state I live in, but the story itself is kinda boring. 4 men that go out prospecting have no food and no water eventually coming to a river, but still that's not enough and the heat being a factor they suffer 3 are taken out because they don't want to suffer anymore and the last one takes himself out later but the guy telling the story is the only one alive. Could there have been 5

Wow, creepy, short story about a man who was buried alive after being really sick. Medical students dig up the grave with the person who works there and steals bodies often. They see as they lift the lid off the casket he is alive after lightning cracks in the sky. Very Van Helsingish. They get scared and run away in fright and go back to the college in the morning to talk about the creepy night...

I really liked that story in a way it reminds me a lot of the movie Corpse Bride with the cliff scene. The typical woman gets married and taken with no trace as to what happened to her and years later the murderer comes forward to confess that he took her out and pushed her off a water fall because she didn't marry him...

The longest chapter in the book so far. John finally gets a chance to go to all of the churches and read his scripture that the Lord has given him for the seven churches with Policarp at his side he tells them what the Lord sees of them some good some bad some that need to repent and turn from their ways of the world.

This was a long story, but it keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. Just goes to show you shouldn't mess with Native land for trapping as this one man does. He gets in a fight with a couple of natives one gets his head chopped off by him, and he stalks him the entire rest of the story as he comes back as a ghost because he wont give his head back...

The story doesn't mention this, but you could take the story in a completely different direction as the young boy could have been seeing him as a ghost as he took his uncle's walking stick that he had from Vietnam, could he have been seeing his uncle that may have been a ghost...

Another long story but one that kept my attention 4 boys go on a trip by canoe on a lake and find that there is a floating island nearby and one sees what he thinks is a campfire by the end a few are missing from going to investigate the island trying to find the other missing boys. They were never found the island was made of quick sand and swamp and it sucked them in. Great story...

This story is by famous author Jack London but wow is it boring not creepy or scary at all so long could have been left out of this collection of short stories. Long story short, a man claims to have a medicine that will work on the skin that if a knife or sharp weapon is used, it will not penetrate the skin. When it does eventually it chops a man's neck off. All those pages for that. I pass on this story not good...

A very short story about a missing ax head and a mysterious native American. This young man sees he takes him out with this ax and places him near a post and never finds the ax head he is so scared of the post but tries to dig it up and when he does he sees this was real the ax he used is embedded in a scull beneath the soil. He leaves an arrowhead where he finds the scull and covers it up the next day, and it's gone

Wow just when you thought Cemetary Rats was creepy this story takes it to the next level of creepy. This is this authors take on this story his version. The undertakers perspective and what happens when he is greedy, he tried to take the treasures of the dead. He got stuck and ended up getting trapped under the ground with the rats as the holes were filled in again.

Ok, why did I enjoy that a lot more this time around? I think I was rushing it the last time I started reading this book. I could actually picture this story as the rats were around this character as he was trying to get out and taste fresh air. Kinda creepy if he was claustrophobic. What a story...

John's last time in his cell, last time on the island that he was placed on God was with him the entire time. This is where John releases the Revelation of Jesus Christ. He sends the Revelation to Asia. Caesar had finally passed away, and the new ruler went through each man that was locked away and released the one's that should not have been locked away for the things they were accused of. John was free to go home.

Just like that cliffhanger, it picks up in the next chapter. This was John moment to finally read the miracles he witnessed that Jesus did. He was right there when they happened, and Cerinthus was not a fan of what John was doing. He said he was putting his opinion and his words in it, which were not true it was John's account to what really happened back when he spent time with Jesus and the other disciples...

The next story was the day the disciples were put all night fishing and didn't catch anything but miraculously see a man on the shore and then come to find its Jesus. He helps them again tells them to cast their net over the side of the boat again they say but nothing will happen and it fills up so much they cannot bring it over the side of the boat so they drag it to shore and Jesus prepares a meal for them to eat..

I didn't want this chapter to end. I got so into the story because I know how it ends. The day Jesus breathed His last and was taken from the cross and put in the tomb and after 3 days was nowhere to be found. The stone was then rolled away. Mary was sad to think the romans took Him away, and then He appeared to his disciples after that happened. He had not yet gone to The Father but would return to them...

This is one of the most famous scenes we know of Jesus just before He went to the cross. The Last Supper, where He knew one of the disciples would betray Him, Judas. He let the other disciples know when He left, He wouldn't leave forever that He would leave The Holy Spirit to comfort them and all of humanity. It was now getting closer to His time to leave them...

John is telling the story about Mary, Martha and Lazarus. This is not the story of Mary and Martha as John said. This is the incredible story of Jesus bringing Lazarus back to life after being dead in the tomb for 4 days. It's a moment where we see another one of Jesus' most talked about miracles. He was a believer in God. This showed people He was truly the Son of God. His power comes from the Father...

Jesus did another miracle the opening the eyes of the blind man. People were still trying to say there was a demon in Jesus, but He again told them. I am of My Father, so there is no way that was possible. If they didn't believe in Him, they were lost from the flock that His Father in Heaven gave to Him. Again, the guards tried to get him, but He vanished from site again it wasn't His time...

This seems to be a more intimate version of the last chapter, but Jesus seems to be talking to those who would judge Him and take Him. Though it was not His time. Jesus talked of His Father in Heaven, though the people were saying Abraham was their father, but they were not doing what their father would do. They were doing what their father of the world would do sinning against God they were looking to the enemy...

I felt this moment in this chapter is where we are showing who Jesus really was His Word was coming to pass people were always taken by the guards but Jesus in this moment John describes nothing is happening to Him yet because it was not His time yet they were judging Jesus before they ever knew what He was doing. He healed a man, and yet the crowds thought He had a demon in Him. He came from His Father in Heaven...

John is writing about Jesus, how He is the Bread of Life, and whoever drinks His blood has life in them, He was speaking symbolically. Also He gave people the manna from Heaven. He came down from Heaven as the Son of Man but is the Christ the Son of the Living God.
