Time for my second read for Spooky Season. Starts with a Stephen King story...I'm sold

A typical native story boy gets native back to health native returns the favor and helps the boy by killing a bear who came close to his family cabin with his bow and arrow and was never seen again was it a spirit...

He decides to gather them up and make a pyre to burn them off to give them a proper send off that's when the wolf disappears. He was told by another native on the side of the lake that wasn't any ordinary old wolf it was a spirit wolf. The wolf was never seen again. His Spirit had gone.

Wow that was the longest story in the book. Long story short a man goes on a trip out in the forest and goes fishing when he suddenly feels something is watching him when he discovers there is something watching him a timber wolf the wolf doesn't want anything to eat the man thinks this is weird. So he bravely goes up to it and it shows him something he never expected bones from a human it was an Indian....

The Holy Spirit will help us in our lives with conviction in sin for the whole world in judgment. The Holy Spirit is there to guide us, telling us the things to come this gives God glory. Sorrow will turn to joy, Jesus leaving His people makes us sad for a little while because when they see Him again, we will have joy returned to us. In the hour of tribulation, be of good cheer Jesus has overcome the world...

Jesus promises a helper to His people, The Holy Spirit that it will come from The Father and The Son He Himself who is of The Father. He will leave His peace when He says Peace I leave with you my Peace I give you. He is the true Vine you will always bear much fruit in God for those who abide in Him. To keep His Commandments. The world will hate us for it, but they once hated Him, too...

Jesus washes the feet of the disciples. He identifies His betrayer, He has a New Commandment : Love one another as I have loved you. Jesus then predicts Peter's denial three times before the rooster crows. He explains He is The Way The Truth and the Life. The Father is then revealed that Jesus came of the Father. He says He will do all that we ask in answered prayer...

Now, that was a weird short story that is all from a maggot that slithers from a grave that leaves a couple of people sick and dead the next morning, including their dog. It gets a school principal sick, and he passes away. The grave is dug up that the maggot came from and is burned. The maggot was never caught...

Then comes Jesus' prediction of His death on a cross, which we know comes to pass. He also let's the people know it is not He who will judge but The Father who ever does not listen to His Word will be judged, Jesus has come to save the world.

The very famous story of The Death and Resurrection of Lazarus, Mary anointing The Lord's feet with oil and cleaning them with her hair. They also try to kill Lazarus again and plot to kill Jesus because He raised Lazarus from the dead...Jesus was and is of His Father, and He tried to tell the people.

There is a lot that happened in this part of the chapter it's all leading up to The Lord's departure. He tells the people who He is though they do not believe because they say they came from Abraham. The blind man who now can see from being born blind. Jesus calls Himself the Good Shepherd how His sheep know His voice and how any other voice His sheep will not follow...

Jesus feeds the five thousand, Jesus walks on the sea, Jesus provides Bread from Heaven, He is rejected by His own, His disciples turn away including Judas, people are in disbelief because of who Jesus says that He is because they know Him as Son of Mary and Joseph, how could He be of Heaven they ask. He promises the people The Holy Spirit and still He is rejected by the authorities.

Wow a story that leaves you on a cliffhanger. A scout leader that is in the woods and encounters something in the dark that he is fearful of after he heard a clip clop on the ground and his flashlights batteries don't work after they were good from before. He never figures out what was chasing him he never saw it...really could have been anything maybe a deer as he heard the noise it made as he ran faster.

The Gospel of John you see the many things John starts it as you read in Genesis like the Bible starts all over again in the beginning was the Word and the Word was God All things were made through Him. We see all the things Jesus did when He turned water into wine. When Jesus meets with the Samaritan woman and asks for a drink of water, when Jesus heals the man at the pool of Bethesda, and this is only 5 chapters in

His friend has a night of fright that he will never forget. The room was haunted by a corpse looking woman who looked demonic. The man who now owned the property didn't want to tell the man that the room was supposedly haunted because he didn't believe it himself. They were friends again after the incident, but the owner would never again open the room again as he resealed it, never to be opened again...

A typical ghost lady story that could have been shortened down with all the other details left put that did nothing to move the story forward. Overall, the story goes on to talk about this room that was locked up and just opened after a man who had a best friend has him stay at this manor house as he reopens it to the public...

He warned the people who were trying to execute him that this was nothing compared to what was to come. God has the last say, and God would bring fire down from the heavens...

Wow what honor Ignatius and Policarp had they never renounced their faith in our Savior Jesus Christ. Before all of this came to an end John was finally at the end of his life he passed away naturally in his sleep. Policarp couldn't be burned, so he was eventually stabbed and burned to ashes. Even to the end, Policarp was faithful to our King Jesus...

This is the most fascinating part of the whole book when Policarp finally reads the Revelation of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the people. The Gospel to the world of what is to come the Book that would eventually become the Book of Revelation. How things would happen to those who keep His Commandments and turn from their wicked ways and those who stayed true to His Word will have a place in Heaven.

I like that this takes place in the state I live in, but the story itself is kinda boring. 4 men that go out prospecting have no food and no water eventually coming to a river, but still that's not enough and the heat being a factor they suffer 3 are taken out because they don't want to suffer anymore and the last one takes himself out later but the guy telling the story is the only one alive. Could there have been 5

The body was brought back to the college this time dead after they crushed the man's head with a spade...so creepy.

Wow, creepy, short story about a man who was buried alive after being really sick. Medical students dig up the grave with the person who works there and steals bodies often. They see as they lift the lid off the casket he is alive after lightning cracks in the sky. Very Van Helsingish. They get scared and run away in fright and go back to the college in the morning to talk about the creepy night...

Now her body has been found, and the only thing that's not buried is her skeleton hand and her rings as it was placed in a glass case and placed in a tavern and hotel, so now the story lives on...

I really liked that story in a way it reminds me a lot of the movie Corpse Bride with the cliff scene. The typical woman gets married and taken with no trace as to what happened to her and years later the murderer comes forward to confess that he took her out and pushed her off a water fall because she didn't marry him...

The longest chapter in the book so far. John finally gets a chance to go to all of the churches and read his scripture that the Lord has given him for the seven churches with Policarp at his side he tells them what the Lord sees of them some good some bad some that need to repent and turn from their ways of the world.

Finally an actual creepy story of a man that is living in a cabin that is 50 miles from civilization he goes out into the woods and discovers a trail that leads to a cabin that he discovers someone is in he sees an abnormal looking man creature a windigo eating fresh meat an actual dead human. He then recognizes this cabin is his cabin what was he doing in his cabin. He wakes up from this it was all a dream or is it.

He tells his friend about it, and he lets him stay with him. The native then takes out his friend and by the end it looks like he too gets killed as it says he sees his body without a head that he sees darkness and that's the last thing he sees the author leaves it open to interpretation...

This was a long story, but it keeps you guessing what's going to happen next. Just goes to show you shouldn't mess with Native land for trapping as this one man does. He gets in a fight with a couple of natives one gets his head chopped off by him, and he stalks him the entire rest of the story as he comes back as a ghost because he wont give his head back...

John has finally returned home after his exile he was rescued by his loyal friend and disciple with a few other men. He was now home drained and exhausted. A bath was prepared for him as he did he got into bed and slept.

The story doesn't mention this, but you could take the story in a completely different direction as the young boy could have been seeing him as a ghost as he took his uncle's walking stick that he had from Vietnam, could he have been seeing his uncle that may have been a ghost...
