I’m sitting here wondering what I would do as an adult and then if I was a kid again. I’m also remembering similar times when I was a kid. I didn’t like her at first it, but, now that we have more of a moral ambivalence, I’m enjoying Jill.

I guess every story needs to touch on a life milestone.

Rosalind snuggles with Mr. Penderwick like Little Women.

Suddenly, we have children saving the day.

I don’t know why but I wish the Tommy plot hadn’t resolve so timely.

Character suddenly has a realization for that plot point turn.

I’m just thinking how easy lying is at creating plot.

Huh. I never thought Mr. Penderwick would do that to his daughters.

This is the kind of plotting I enjoy. There’s one major plot and multiple subplots. Is Batty’s plot silly? Sure. Is the Tommy plot cliché? Is Jane and Skye’s plot trivial? Sure. But it’s an ensemble book. A bunch of wildly different sisters in a secure family have unpleasantries.
