I first read this long ago, way before the tv show. I didn't like the book for several reasons at the time (1) not in the right frame of mind (2) hating multiple POVs and (3) deaths of main characters. However after having watched the show every time it came on once it started (regardless how I felt for the book) and LOVING it, I am finally giving the book another go. #'s 1 & 3 will be no problem now.

Why do authors always do that? Whenever there is a beautician or barber (or just someone cutting hair) in a story, the author(s) always give them a wash beforehand. That is not the case hardly ever. You don't need to wash someone's hair first. In fact it is extra. It is called a wash & cut or wash & trim or whatever else they want to name the combo. This irks me. My mom is a beautician, I would know.
