Make the woman feel compelled to self-sacrifice with stupidity? Seriously. It is getting really repetitive and annoying having to come across some variation of the same thing in all novels (just about).

So here's what was told. 1) Cait is 23, 2) Cait's dad died 14 yrs ago and her mother 7 yrs ago (one time it said she was 15 when she lost her dad 14 yrs ago), 3) Rob the guy she loved left her 6 yrs ago and they got together 2 yrs before that, 4) Cait has been tracking Kane for 4/5 yrs, 5) Cait found out she was a shadow-reader when she was 3 at school and they gave her a guide book....and all of this is plausible?

What is up with all the name dropping in this book? A couple is relevant, but the rest? Cruz, Willow, Marcus, Cord, Clay, Christina, Hendrix, Hadley, Jax, Eli, the Drake boys, Keegan, Octavia, Lila Kate, not to mention their parents....This was all listed in a couple paragraphs.

This seems like a mix of Fallen and Twilight. Deja vu big time while reading this. Plus it is all way too descriptive, makes it tedious and hard to get into the story.
